  1. Won bidding for 2.5 star in Bettendorf, IA Congratulations, you got your price of $39 for a 2
  2. There are two Fairfield Inn's in the Northwest. College Park and Northwest. Which one is this bid for? I didn't like College Park at all..outdoor hotel, SMALL, teeny tiny rooms!! YUCK! I got the room for $27 a night back in March, I think it was. The Fairfield Northwest is much nicer, although I stopped staying there because they were not paying their bills and were constantly out of food, water in the weight room, USA today and even shampoo! Good thing I carry a stash of toiletries with me! The staff has changed over the last year and this hotel has really gone downhill. Staff used to be what kept me coming back (before I found priceline, this was my home away from home), but with the change, it was the staff that made me leave (very rude).
  3. This used to be the Omni off of 82nd street. It was very nice, had friendly staff, rooms have just been renovated. High Speed $9.95 in room, free in lobby/business center .50 each for copies Bar has nice sitting area that you can use your laptop at. Local calls .75 each, toll free unlimited no charge. Average rate of restaurant $10.95 (breakfast and lunch buffet). Dinner is average for area $15-$20 a la carte. The fitness center was adequate and very nicely done! This is my favorite place to work out when I am out traveling!!! Equipment is in great shape, great music (Reggae all day, everyday..LOL) Nice pool. Rooms are decent, but of average size, nothing spectacular. Only thing I didn't like.. the rooms walls are paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING in the rooms next to you and out in the hall. Privacy is not really something that is a given here.
  4. Free parking Resident style living, some rooms do have the bedroom seperated with doors (loved this style room!). Free breakfast in morning free Social hour during weekdays M-Th with dinner items (limited, like Ravioli, hot dogs, etc). Sits right on the canal, so ask for a canal view room when you check in if possible! Walking distance to Downtown Mall. Laundry and Dry Clean room. Beautiful rooms, beautiful atmosphere! Work out facilities small, but have lots of good equipment (Nautilus and Cardio). No Free weights. Pool/whirlpool very nice Free Billiards. Staff is somewhat "moody", but considering what they go through, they are a fantastic bunch! I have been getting this consistently for $37 bid on priceline.
  5. Paid $37 via priceline for dates 6/10-6/12 I have to warn all that are interested in this hotel downtown on West Washington Street. This hotel is OLD, the rooms remind me of an older Fairfield Inn or just older hotel. The work out room- forget it.. might as well walk the canal. Two pieces of equipment, and those were busted! LOL! Outdoor pool only, no whirlpool. Touts itself as having a garden patio.. the pictures show lush greenery.. uh.. not sure what happened to the lush...lol Business center is open in the lobby, no phone and limited space to work. However the good things about this hotel is location, location, location! It is right across from the zoo, museums and canal on one side and the RCA dome (down one block) and Victory Field on the other. You couldn't ask for a much better location at this price. TGI Friday's is attached to the hotel. Some of the rooms have balconies overlooking the lush pool area . I would ask for one of these rooms if you get lucky. There are only a few available. I got a balcony with my room (yay!). However, my view was of a wall..LOL I could see the skyline during the day reflected in the windows that were on the wall.. kewl. LOL and if I peered to the far left, I could see the beginning of the pool LOL Hotel Staff was VERY friendly!
  6. Ths is one of my favorite Baymont Inns. They have a wonderful pool area! Hope you enjoyed your stay there!

  8. Oak Brook-Downers Grove Hotel listed with these amenities: Best Value Kitchette Laundry facilities Homestead Chicago Oakbrook 2701 Technology Drive Lombard, Illinois 60148 (630) 928-0202 I really wanted something close to Midway.. this is not a good spot for me to be in to catch a flight out of Midway! No work out facilities and it appears that there is not any breakfast. I really wish it would have said Lombard and not Oak Brook, as the other hotel is in Oak Brook/Westmont would have been so much better. However, I have been lucky so far.. I guess one dud in the bunch is not so bad!
  9. :) OH GOSH! LOL!!! I went across the parking lot to check out the Courtyard, and when I got there it said Courtyard Capitol. I thought to myself..hmmm....that doesn't ring a bell. So came back, checked my receipt and sure enough it is actually: Courtyard Downtown 501 West Washington Street Indianapolis Sorry for the goof!
  10. 2.5* Residence Inn Downtown Indy on the Canal (350 New York Street) $37.00 for 7/11-7/14. whew, glad I didn't get the Courtyard! LOL!! (It is nice, I just like the Residence Inn better!!) Have a great night!
  11. Well, it looks as though the Courtyard by Marriott has joined in on the 2.5* rating in the downtown area! I went to go extend my stay, and got this hotel :) HOWEVER, it is in the same parking lot- just not on the canal (and no social hour/free breakfast). But it is a good deal at this rate, since usually it goes for $159.00 a night!
  12. Hi all, Just wanted to let you all know this price is still good! I have stayed twice since my last posting in April at this price. Bid Downtown 3* starting bid 35 rejected Added 2.5* kept downtown and bid $37 accepted. Happy bidding!
  13. Lonestar Said: "I always recommend the Waimea Plantation Cottages on Kauai (1/2 price through Aston with an Entertainment Card), but it does seem that relatively few of the folks going to Hawaii are looking for laid back "old Hawaii" accomodations. If you want a "resort," WPC is not it" Ohhh Sounds lovely! How do you get such a deal, and how much does it end up costing? My husband and I want to stay on the West Side of Kauai (he said it is more secluded *ahem*) Do you recommend this area for seclusion and the ability to just be able to drop off out of sight? Which side of Kauai is this? Thank you so much!!!! We are looking at going for our anniversary Nov 7-14, 2005.
  14. Hello! Yes it was the Hilton on Shadeland. Thanks for the bidding advice!!!
  15. OMG! This is just a beautiful hotel! It sits right along the canal giving breathtaking views! How won: NW Indianapolis 2 1/2 star moderate plus $20.00 rejected Speedway with $20.00 bid, rejected Fishers 2 1/2 star moderate plus $25.00 rejected Fishers 3 star Upscale $30.00 rejected Started getting pretty upset at this point (asI think I actually took a few more steps than this). Put in Downtown (have so far 3 star and 2.5* selected) and put in bid for $37.00) Bid accepted. Free parking Resident style living (we were given the studio) Free breakfast in morning Looks like free happy hour during weekdays with dinner items (limited, like Ravioli, hot dogs, etc). Sits right on the canal, so ask for a canal view room when you check in if possible! Walking distance to Downtown Mall. Beautiful rooms, beautiful atmosphere! Work out facilities small, but have lots of good equipment (Nautilus and Cardio). Did not see any free weights (will update after I go down there tomorrow!). Pool/whirlpool very nice Free Billards. Well worth the money. Hotel was giving away rooms for $50.00 when we got here. Ours was $47 and some change after fees/taxes through priceline.
  16. Schaumburg-Arlington Heights and vacinity 3.5 * Amenities: Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center Used GIFTCARD06 to take $10.00 off $69.00 rate. Total price with taxes and fees $69. This hotel is the Sheraton across from Arlington Horse Racetrack. PHENOMENAL hotel that will blow your socks off! EXCELLENT staff, and the best service I have found as of yet. The rooms are AMAZING! I LOVE this hotel and was completely pampered and taken care of while there! High Speed $9.95 a day/free in lobby ALL calls are free for first 20 mins (except for toll calls) and then charged an insane rate after that. This includes toll free numbers! Fitness facility blew my socks off! It is a regular health club downstairs. I felt I was at the YMCA! Completely impressed with this hotel.
  17. Hi there, I won this by bidding through priceline using the system that has been explained. If all of you will forgive me, I can not remember for the life of me how I got the winning bid! But I vaguely remember bidding $25 for a 4 star, rejected. I continued on adding another area, upped my bid to 41.00, added in 3 star (I really do think this is right..LOL but it probably isn't!) and was accepted! Nice pool. Rooms are decent, but of average size. Guess I should have put this in the reviews??? Sorry, this is my first post! Thanks for all of your help! Kathy
