  1. Bid $60 for French Quarter and got rejected... Bid up to $70 and added Downtown and got rejected...and gave up for the day Next day, bid $60 for French Quarter and got rejected again... Upped the bid to $75 and added Downtown and this time was successful! Excited about this property as it seems very nice! I've had a drink at the bar on prior trips and the bartender is a legendary mixologist :D As always, used the PRICELINE link!
  2. Tried $125 for Miami Beach and was rejected... Tried again at $140 for Miami Beach and South Beach Collins and was accepted... Might have been a teensy bit hasty, but very happy with the win at this Renaissance property... As always, used the PRICELINE link :D
  3. Tried $60 for Inner Harbor 4* and got rejected...added additional zones w/o 4* properties and increased the price by $10 until I was accepted at $90...a bit more than I was hoping to pay but a great savings of about 50%+ off the published rate. :D
  4. Very excited about this price on this property! Works out to ~$80/nt after taxes and fees, which is a steal! Fitness center looks nice and will help us balance out our anticipated BBQ and Tex-Mex gluttony :D Only downside is parking fee, but hopefully there will be a reasonably priced garage nearby...
  5. Bid on this hotel for a place to stay when our flight was delayed by 6 hours and eventually cancelled. Believe this is an unusually low price for the property, but we bid at 7:30p for a same day reservation and were happily accepted! The shuttle was convenient (runs every 15 minutes) and we returned to the airport well rested. As always, used the PRICELINE link!
  6. Won on my first bid! Possibly paid a bit too much (max $10/nt extra), but happy :) with a reasonable price for a 4* property in downtown with little effort. $75/nt + tax = $93/nt Back-up option was what looks like the Westin on Hotwire for $99/nt (+ tax = ~$120/nt) Looking forward to grabbing a drink in the rooftop restaurant and checking out the pool. There is an extra charge for onsite parking (unlimited in/out for $15/day), but apparently, there is a free weekend parking garage 1 block down the street
  7. I was hoping to snag a room for $75/night, but I'm probably willing to go $110 Max depending on the star level. Looks like they have 3.5* hotels on HOTWIRE for ~$135/night for those nights
  8. Tried bidding on PRICELINE (used link from site): 1st Try: Dupont Circle, 3.5*, $70 - rejected 2nd Try: Dupont Circle + Downtown, 3.5*, $80 - rejected 3rd Try: Dupont Circle + Downtown + G-town Foggy Bottom, 3.5*, $85 - rejected Will try again tomorrow. DC seems to often have decent last minute deals!
  9. Used the PRICELINE link and started bidding at $70 for a 4* San Diego Downtown, which was rejected. Increased bid to $75 including San Diego Coastal and was rejected again. Finally increased bid to $80 for San Diego La Mesa and won the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. $98.10 after taxes and fees. Looks like a great price for the property with a 4/5 tripadvisor rating and a nice pool area. Only downside is the reputed $20/day parking charge!
  10. Started with $60 bid on 4* Scottsdale, rejected Re-bid $65 on 4* Scottsdale AND Tempe, rejected Re-bid $55 on 3.5* Scottsdale AND Tempe, accepted Happy with rate, backup option was $79 on Hotwire for Tempe (probably the Marriott Buttes) Looks like all rooms are suites, so it's a nice bonus to have a kitchenette and washer/dryer No resort fees, on-site fitness center and free in-room internet Total price after tax: $198 ($66/nt) As always, used the PRICELINE link
  11. Found a surprise $55 (after tax) RT flight on Spirit from NYC to Detroit and wanted to find a reasonably priced hotel for 12/9 - 12/10. Used the PRICELINE link and Started bidding at $60 for 4* Detroit Downtown. Increased bids by $10 over the next few days until I reached $90. Was told $115 would win. Bid $105 the following day and won. Saved about 33% off regular prices on travel sites. Alternative was $115 offer on Hotwire. Believe it was for the Westin Book Cadillac based on amenities. Also looked at the Hostel Detroit for $46/night.
  12. Just got the same priceline deal for the same dates! $96 + tax = $118.80 Used the betterbidding.com PRICELINE link! Thank you!!! Saved $60 off my original hotel reservation!
