My previously rejected bid was for $95, but did not include the French Quarter. My bid pattern was as follows: $60 (CBD) $70 (add Convention Center) $80 (add Garden District) $85 (add Metairie) $90 (add NO Airport) $95 (add West Bank) $100 (add French Quarter) I began with CBD and Convention Center because these were my preferences.
I began bidding at $60 and continued bidding with free bids until my $100 bid was accepted. The taxes and service fees are $39.56, for a two night total of $239.56. The Marriott website shows a rate of $219. FYI, the website shows that the pool is closed for renovation. This reservation is for the second weekend of Jazz Fest; we are quite pleased with our purchase.
This was a same-day reservation. With taxes and fees, the total is $91.95. I have previously stayed at this location, through Hotwire and otherwise, and had great experiences! Started bidding at $107. Was rejected. Received invitation to increase bid by $22 for same area. Instead used free rebid, increasing bid to $115. Accepted. $22.89 in taxes and service fees.
Same day bidding. I originally tried 4 star and boutique level throughout the city for up to $150 and was rejected. Tried 3 star in CBD for $100 and was rejected. Increased to $120 and added convention center. Was accepted at 3 stars and was upgraded to 4 stars, Sheraton. With tax included, $146.86. A great deal as the city is shut down for Jazz Fest. I am not sure how it worked out this way, since my four star bidding should have included the $120 for 4 stars in the Convention Ctr.
