Did a Hotwire search earlier today and noticed a 4* Downtown hotel (2/28 - 3/5) with the following amenities: Restaurant Internet Access Pool Business Center Fitness Center 95% recommended This sounds exactly like the Hyatt New Orleans as reported in a recent Hotwire win. Out of curiosity, I searched for a vacation package on the same dates and, indeed, it listed the Hyatt New Orleans as a choice, but this hotel was only listed as 3.5*. Is it common for Hotwire to list the same hotel with different Star Ratings?

Sorry to hijack. I greatly appreciate the knowledge and assistance provided by the board members and staff, but I'm attempting to search and educate myself before starting a purchase. I am curious of any feedback or experience that anyone has with Hotwire listing the same property with different Star Ratings between the Hotel search and the Vacation search. In this case, it listed the Hyatt New Orleans as a 3.5* in the Vacation package, but I'm almost positive that it is coming up a 4* in the Hotel search as the original poster noted.

Here's a bit of strangeness. I am looking for a hotel in the same area. I did a search and came back with 4* same amenities as you listed. I decided to search vacations for the same dates, and it lists Hyatt New Orleans as a 3.5* on Hotwire. What's up with that?

Looks like the 3.5* didn't last long. I'm guessing it was the Holiday Inn/Aladdin in the Power&Light District. That is the area that I am most interested in. $103 is more than I'm willing to pay for the Westin or Sheraton. I will keep checking periodically and update if I see any changes.

I did a Hotwire search for 3/13 - 3/16 in Downtown KC. Returned two 4* properties. 1st one listed Restaurant, Business Center, Pool as amenities, and the 2nd one did not list amenities at all. I have never seen this before. I assume the 1st property is either the Sheraton or Westin. I'm hoping the 2nd might be Hotel Phillips, but I'd like to be able to learn more.

I had to get it done before leaving the office Friday. So I decided to try Priceline instead. Picked up 3* Four Points by Sheraton in the Airport zone for $50. I'll start a new thread in the Priceline forum. Thanks for the info!

It was Sea Turtle Inn. Paid $94 at Hotwire and was very impressed with the property!

I bid the White House zone at $80, because I noticed that several people had been getting the Hilton at good prices. Second bid, added Convention Center/Capitol Hill at $85 and won Grand Hyatt.
