  1. I can't take a chance that it may be the Hilton Inn at Penn so I will let this one lapse. thanks for help
  2. I ditched this effort as to uncertainty and went the safe route thru someone else, thanks
  3. hotwire offers 4* hotel in Center City West/Univ City area on feb 15-18 for $103/nite Smoke free rooms Restaurant business ctr hi speed internet fitness ctr accessible blind/deaf/path of travel in-room access/wheelchair access accessible bathroom roll in shower handicap parking 95% recommendation from users and declared a 'best value' thanks for help
  4. I often travel to Phila and use PL or HW often. I truly enjoy the Loews in center city and thought I'd try something different that someone had suggested. I called the hotel directly (not the reservation 800 #) and asked for the front desk manager. I simply explained to her that I usually get low rates by using the bidding sites and asked her if she'd consider $100 per night for a three night weekend stay in Feb. (avg bids thru HW are $100) I told her how I enjoyed the Loews last time I was in town and had gotten it on HW. I also reminded her that they would save by not having to pay the fees to HW, etc. She was unmoved. She went on the quote me prices directly from the website w/ no discount whatsoever and maybe mentioned to keep an eye on HW. I thanked her and moved on. Frankly, I was surprised that there was no give and take in the offer. I was supremely polite. Thought I'd just pass on the info on the effort. Any suggestions for next time.
  5. Sorry, I forgot about the previous ID attempt. Looks to be the same hotel. But why isn't Hyatt Regency listed in the list of identified hotels in the ctr city east list? I forgot it was even a candidate because it wasn't listed. Glad I held off thanks
  6. Hotwire lists 4 star PHILA Ctr City EAST for Feb 17-20 for $144/nite w/ icons FitnessCtr, Pool, Restaurant, BusCtr and HiSpeedNet. Is it Loews? Westin doesn't have pool and is in the West? What about ParkHyatt? help please, thanks
  7. stay is Feb 17-20, 2012 Phila Center City EAST $139 symbols FITNESS, POOL, RESTAURANT, BUS CTR, HI SPEED INTERNET 95% recommendation and 3.5 rating on tripadvisor, and 'best value' Me thinks it is the Loews but am a bit nervous that it's the Hyatt penns landing (I don't want) 'cause they also have a pool (but never seen the pool icon for the Hyatt PL)..... Also the 3.5 tripadvisor rating would match w/ the Hyatt PL, the Loews on tripadvisor shows a 4.0 rating. Are those ratings legit clues or are they maybe not up to date or accurate. Loews website offers rooms for $179 and Hyatt's website offers rooms for $149. Expedia doesn't list either hotel for dates entered and Hotels.com lists Hyatt PL at $149 and no listing of Loews. What's your opinion? thanks
  8. needed a room for July29-31, 2011 in Wilmington area, bid $39 for 3* in Wilm/Brandywine area- rejected. Then added Elkton, MD zone for free rebid of $42 and got accepted. Marriott Courtyard Downtown, very happy. :)
  9. to close this out, the hotel was the Loews as I booked it on Hotwire for another date in July
  10. just booked thru HOTWIRE, July 1-4, 2011 4* w/ Restaurant, Fitness ctr, Hi SpeedNet, and Bus ctr icons- Loews Annapolis saw this offer on HW, then went to PL and offered up $95 bid, rejected but they suggested I bump the offer up to $120 to which I was pretty sure the HW $103 would work out. Then went back to HW and committed to the deal. I was lucky as I was correct in thinking it was the Loews (thankfully). Very pleased. On Loews website they had rooms for $160/nite (prepaid, no cancellation) :)
  11. A simple request for one nite, July 13-14, bid $75 for 3 star in State College South region. Accepted adn got Courtyard By Marriott, State College on first bid of $75. Listed online rate was $131
  12. thanks so much for the prompt response and answers
  13. When a hotel has an offer thru Hotwire, is there a strong correlation that they also have something w/ Priceline? Also, when you find a package deal thru Hotwire, can we strongly assume that they have reg. room offers for the same dates that they may offer package deals? Finally when you mention that hotels don't always show all amenities or not complete ones.... do they alter them often and is this to confuse us? what's your take? thanks great site and I will use the links when time comes to pull the trigger on a deal tedted
  14. I've completed the tasks, looks like a wonderful site thanks tedted
