  1. One thing you should note, if you book through priceline, chances are you will end up with the cheapest room category possible (low floor facing a garage or A/C unit). This being your honeymoon, you should plan to need to spend an additional $20-40/night once you get to the hotel for an upgrade (if available) to partial or full ocean view. If I were you, I would reserve a room either at Shareton Waikiki, Marriot Beach Resort & Spa, or Moana Surfrider or whereever you can get for about $150-200/night. Then you will have your backup plan. Then, I wouldn't start bidding until about 4 or 5 weeks prior to your trip. I was denied bidding on a resort at $130/night a couple months out from my desired stay. I waited until a month before my trip and managed to get marriott for $100/night by bidding on a resort.
  2. Wow...finally got it. I've been trying almost every day for over a month, always using the PRICELINE link at the top of the page. I'm cheap and I got the same hotel last year for same time of year for $90...didn't want to pay much more. Using rebids, I started at about $80 and worked all the way up to $130....always getting denied. If you really need me to post my bidding history, I can... Over the course of the month, I noticed that the average price they listed for Resort Waikiki Beach constantly changed from about $181 to $236. 3 days ago, it was the lowest average I saw at $181. Bid $100 and was denied but I was offered free rebid at $125. Didn't do anything. Yesterday, average price was listed as $190, I bid $99, $100, $102, & $104 (plus had $1.66 bonus cash each bid) and all were denied. I am pretty confident bonus cash is really bogus cash...I wish it was redeamable after a bid is accepted. Anyways, today, the average was again $190. My very first bid of $100, that I expected would be denied, was accepted. Wish I started a little lower, but I am still happy. I beleive the same hotel is currently listed on Hotwire at $136 (4* Waikiki Beach area hotel - Near Beach, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry, Hi-Speed Internet, Recommended by 90%). This will hopefully help you if you compare to Hotwire to guage the ball park your Priceline bids should be in. Happy because I definately wanted the Marriott over Sheraton and others because of no bogus resort fees which would have increased my cost by 20%! Anyways, good luck bidding to all!!!!
  3. Thanks for the responses...My dates this year are Apr 27-May 3.
  4. I just recently found this site and find it awesome! I am a little concerned about the prices I am finding on Hotwire and Priceline though this year. Last year, I used Priceline (will use the PRICELINE link from this site from now on) and on Apr 3/2010 i bid $105 for a Waikiki Beach Area 4* or Resort Apr 18-24 and won the Mariott Beach Resort. Then again on Apr 3, I bid $90 for a Waikiki Beach Area Resort Apr 24-29 and won Mariott Beach Resort as well. I didn't want to move for 1 night and ended up extending till the 30 for another $90. I was trying for the Moana Surfrider both times...but either way was pleasantly surprized with the Mariott...and they did not have any resort fees. Now, this year, I am trying to bid again for a similar time and can not even get a Waikik Beach Resort for $130 that time of year. Plus, I noticed most people are winning the Shareton Waikiki. If I win that, there will be another $20 resort fee I beleive and by the time that and taxes are added, I would be over $170/night! Are hotels more expensive this year? and by almost 50%? Is it cheaper as it gets closer you think? It does not appear so from reading these boards. Am I on the hook for a resort fee or is that included in the taxes and fees PRICELINE charges?
  5. Hi, After you win a hotel stay on Priceline, do they always give you the option to extend your stay?
