  1. Thanks for the help!! We really want to book, but it's so far away, and with no cancellation. I'll let you know if we do. Thanks again!!
  2. Hi there! I'm looking at express deals for September of next year, since people seem to be finding some terrific deals recently. I'm specifically looking at a 3.5 star rated express deal as follows: 3.5-Star Hotel What Hotel? Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek Free Internet Access, Swimming Pool, Restaurant Hotel Amenities 8 Guest Rating 300 verified guest reviews EXPRESS DEAL $92 Could this be Caribbean Beach or Coronado Springs? We'd be happy with either. Thanks for your insights!!
  3. I just won this resort for June 8th and 9th. Bid $79 a night. My apologies for not booking through your site. It was a last minute bid and I didn't think of it. Will in future. It looks like this is a very new resort. When I've bid in northern Ontario before, Deerhurst used to be the only Resort available in Huntsville. However, when I went into Muskoka, ON, I noticed that RESORT was now an option in that category. I wanted to let you and others know that there is now another resort option in northern Ontario. Thanks for the great work on your site.
  4. Thanks to you both! I talked to the family, and they'd rather not bother with splitting up the car rental. I just went to a variety of car rental sites and with all taxes included I couldn't find anything less than $340. I'll keep plugging away at it and maybe book a back-up rental. I'll try PRICELINE again and will use your links. Thanks again.
  5. Wow, that was quick. Thanks! Our dates are late on the 24th, and returning the car early on the 5th of September. Is it a really good deal to split the rental into 2 reservations? We are in the general area for the trip, so it is feasible, but is it worth the hassle? At the links you gave me, the lowest prices were $18 a day on the first and $22 a day on the second. Is it too early to bid, or are the prices just a lot higher than last year?
  6. For more than a month, I've been trying to bid on a car on PRICELINE for our upcoming trip in Orlando. We need a car on August 24th for 12 days. I've bid on a compact and economy car, up to $16 but no success. Last year, we got a compact car for $11 a day over the same time period. Any thoughts on what I should do? There are only 2 of us, so the cheapest car we can get is the goal. Thanks!
  7. Both Fort Lauderdale downtown and Fort Lauderdale airport zones look good. Sorry to be taking so much of your time. I actually am quite familiar with priceline, but I guess you wouldn't know it from my ramblings here! I must become more familiar with your site. Great job by the way.
  8. If both areas are considered close enough to the cruise departures, than I'd be interested in both. Thanks!
  9. Thanks thereuare! I posted my winning Orlando bid in another thread. Thanks for your assistance. I'm now looking for a 2* hotel for one pre-cruise night for Jan. 18, 2008. The lower the price, the better since my folks will be in Florida for 3 months total! For now, I'd like to set the bidding limit to $50. We can re-evaluate if this is too low. I've already bid $38 to no avail.
  10. I started bidding at $33 and kept going up by $1 since I had a lot of time. I did get the counter offer requesting that I up my bid by $9, but I declined. I read that I could have halved it (gone up by $4 or $5), but I decided to stick with my strategy of going up by $1 and it worked. Thanks to this board for the great info.
  11. Thanks to both of you for the input. I'm trying to get them a hotel for 2 different dates (before and after their cruise). The first is Jan. 18 and the other is Jan. 29 and 30th, 2008. They don't want an expensive hotel for this little part of their trip so a 2 or 2.5 star is sufficient. I guess I'll go check out some hotel websites to see what the going rates are before I start bidding. Any thoughts on where I should begin the bidding? I just won them a 2 star hotel in the Orlando airport area for this December for $38. I hear Fort Lauderdale is more expensive?
  12. Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this question, but I'm not sure where else to look. I'm trying to book a hotel room for my parents in Fort Lauderdale the night before their cruise. The problem is that I don't know which Fort Lauderdale zone is the closest to where the cruises launch. Downtown? Beach area? Thanks for any info!
  13. I haven't seen this hotel come up before, has anyone else? I hope it's a good one. My first bid was $50 which got rejected. Second bid was for $55 and was accepted. :)
  14. thanks! I'm sorry to say that my sister doesn't want to bid anymore for fear of getting a different motel. I've given her all this information as well as hotwire info. If I can convince her to change her mind, I've told them all about this site. Thanks a lot for all your help! We'll all be back!
  15. Hi again. I wonder if you can help us with our current dilemma! My sister only has a visa card and priceline does not accept Canadian visas. Therefore, she cannot book a room for herself through priceline. Both my dad and I have booked our rooms through priceline successfully. Had we known about my sister's situation, one of us would have requested 2 rooms instead of 1. My dad tried to bid for an additional room tonight for my sister, but priceline will not let him do so since according to their records, he already has a bid for the same day. My question is..........is there any way that one of us can add an additional room to our reservations? TIA
  16. Thanks for the info everyone. I'll be sure to pass it along to my sister. We're going on a big family trip this August and my father and I already have rooms at the La Quinta Airport west (near Orlando airport) that we both won on priceline so my sister wants to join us there before we head to Disney. Thanks again
  17. My sister and family (two adults, two kids) are considering using priceline for their upcoming trip. They want to book an airport hotel for one night. Do you think they'd be able to get a room with 2 beds? I just don't want them to book a room and have only one bed in the room. They're hoping for the same motel as us (La Quinta Airport west) but would be fine if another motel came up. Once their bid is accepted, I guess they'd call the motel directly and request a room with 2 beds? Thanks for any info.
  18. I had luck for our second request as well. Again, I followed your advice and bid on a 2* at $35. Interesting how we got the same hotel as we did for the beginning of our trip. It looks pretty good for the price. Thanks again! Forgot to add the date - Aug. 31/2005
  19. SUCCESS! :) Thanks so much for all your help! I took your advice and tried for a 2* and we got accepted on the first bid of $35! Previously, I had bid up to $33 on a 2* but I guess I was just a little shy of the asking price. I wanted to change the subject line, but I couldn't find the edit button?? Thanks! 2* MCO Airport La Quinta Inn Orlando Airport West Aug. 21 (1 night) $35 Thanks! I plan on telling my priceline buddies about this site!
  20. Thanks for the quick reply! :) For the Aug. 21 stay, we do have friends who could pick us up at the airport so it's not absolutely necessary to get a car or have free shuttle service at this point of the trip. As I mentioned above, we will be getting a car for the latter half of the trip. But, as this is our first night, I'd like to stick with a 3* quality for now (until bids get too high). For Aug. 21st, I found the following prices for 3* MCO hotels Holiday Inn Select - $132.95 Mariott Airport - $139 Renaissance - $149 Hyatt - $189 Sheraton - $229 Crowne Plaza - $126 For our Aug. 31st stay, we will have a car so our objective is the cheapest, clean motel room as possible to lay our heads for a few hours. I don't see any 1* motels listed in your list. For the 2* motels, the current prices coming up are: La Quinta Airport West - $75.05 La Quinta Inn and Suites Orlando Airport North - $75.05 Thanks again for your help.
  21. I'm very pleased to have found this board. Love the friendly people :) For about a month I've been trying for a 3* airport hotel for one night (Aug. 21st, 2005). I've had no luck so far. I've noticed that from the last 2yrs, prices have gone up. In Sept. 2003, we got the airport Hyatt for $31. I guess that's impossible these days! We actually need an MCO hotel at the beginning and end of our Florida stay, but I'm ahead of myself here. For Aug. 21st, we really only need a place to lay our heads so the cheaper, the better. The only catch, is that we won't have a rental car and I understand only 3* hotels have complimentary 24hr shuttle service. I've bid up to $39, but I guess I'm kidding myself for getting a hotel for that cheap. Any suggestions? We also need an MCO hotel on Aug. 31st. This time, however, we WILL have a rental car so free shuttle is not an issue. Therefore, we're willing to accept a lower star quality motel. We will spend very little time there so as long as it's clean, we're fine! For the last month, we've bid for 3*, 2.5*, 2* and even 1* and used free rebids for the 3*. We bid up to $39 for the 3* and up to $30 for the 1*. It appears I will have to bid over $39 for a 3*. My 72hr window is up tomorrow so I can bid again. What are your suggestions? Thanks A LOT!!
