  1. Link used. Purchased on Hotwire US but paid in £'s as UK based. This made price £859 total for the 7 nights,(about $1,340) rather than $1403 plus exchange fees on my credit card. Got this for a friend. The Chicago Marathon on the 12th made this tricky, as did needing a weeks stay. I have been bidding on Priceline for the 7 nights stay up to $150 a night without success which would be about the same as the Hotwire price when tax, priceline fees and exchange fees are taken into account. I could have split the stay and got it for £10 pn less but Saturday was always going to be expensive to book alone. My friend is very happy. Details were: 4 out of 5 trip adviser. 4.5-star Hotel in Chicago Gold Coast - Lake Shore Drive This Hotel features the following amenities: Pet friendly Boutique Hotel Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access
  2. Took some time to get a room in Sacramento. Rejected on 4* Downtown up to $85. Also rejected in University/S Natomas for 2.5 up to $42 Bid 4* Rancho Cordova up to $53 - rejected Bid 3* Rancho Cordova up to $42 rejected Worked my way up from $33 for 2.5* Ranch Cordova with success at $42 at the Amerisuites. Phewwww.
  3. Asked by a friend to see if I could help get a good value priceline room in NYC. Based on past success I bid MTE and MTW 4* at $120. Success on first attempt at the Waldorf Astoria (MTE). One very happy friend and over 50% saved on hilton website prepaid rate.
  4. Have been bidding this for several weeks now up to $45 without success. Decided to go for the extra $1 today. Started at $37 for 3* SFO and worked up to $46 using the more expensive zones to rebid, as USW, FW and USE all would have been ok. Success at last for $46 at the Marriott SFO.
  5. Spurred on by the other recent successes posted for MTE for weekdays I decided to bid for my remaining 2 days. Wanted to only stay in MTE :- 1st bid 4* MTE $110 - received counter offer to raise by $22 - I rejected this 2nd bid 4* MTE + UWSide (free rebid) $115 - rejected 3rd bid 4* MTE + UESide (free rebid) $120 - accepted at 4* Waldorf Astoria (MTE) This same strategy was rejected last week. Very pleased as on the same street as the Hyatt where I have the sunday night booked so not far to walk to change hotels. Many thanks to those who posted their recent successes in MTE as I would have not bid for this so soon after my rejections last week without reading your posts.
  6. I really wanted 3 nights but have bid unsuccessfully for a 4* in MTE AND MTW up to $120 (going with a friend on a tight budget and I wanted to avoid 3* if I could). Normal rates for sunday 7/24 were a lot less than for the next 2 week nights so I decided to split my bid and go for the first night only at this time. Preferred MTE to MTW so started:- Bid $100 4* MTE - rejected then $105 MTE and upper east side (free rebid) - accepted at Grand Hyatt Park Avenue. More than happy. Now just the next 2 nights to sort out.
  7. I'm pleased to find your site and here is my first post. I have had a look at your support page and this looks very fair and I will happily use these links in future. Started this bid by also including the 6/18 (saturday) and rejected up to $75. So tried again without the saturday and successful with a first bid of $62 for a 3* in Monterey and received the Hilton.
