Just an FYI. I bid yesterday on 4* and was able to use these two zones as rebid zones. Just tried to bid today and Coney Island and Queensboro bridge are grayed out. Bummer. Also, I noticed that LES now has 4* & ESB now has 5*. I'm a little afraid to use the remaining two rebid zones (Long Island City & Morningside Heights) since they seem to be revamping star levels.

I found a Hilton promo code and ended up booking direct. It was a mistake because that Hilton wasn't worth it. Live and learn.

I checked the hotwire list, but can't seem to find a 4* with this exact set of amenities that include tennis nearby and pet friendly.

Guessing Inter-Continental The Barclay or Doubletree or maybe Grand Hyatt, but not sure if they allow pets?

The Kitano, imo, isn't the greatest 4* in the ESB area, but priceline bidders can't be too choosy. :)

Decided to use bid before using the express deal. Using the PRICELINE link here, I started at $185 but ended at $220 for 11/7-11/13. Got the Kitano for $220. Something is going on in the Murray Hill/ESB area because all the rates are sky high and a lot of 4*s are selling out for some of the days we needed, so I'm happy to be saving some cash, even if it is the Kitano.

Oops, the date it shows are 11/8 not 11/7.

I haven't bid yet but I was checking out the express deal (through the link on here :)). They have one for a 4* in ESB and all it says is,

I think it might be The Strand based on the Hsia comment. If you look on their description on Priceline it says this.

We've never stayed at an Affinia before but have been interested in checking it out. And of course I used the PRICELINE link from here. :-)

Using the PRICELINE link from here, I started at $92 and worked my way up by $3 each time with rebid zones.

The only zone I used that also had 4* was MTE, the rest did not have 4*.

Reviews on this property seemed to be mixed, but for $110, we'll take it! :)

I'm worried it could be the Sheraton Sand Key now that I look at what else they list as 4*.

Using the HOTWIRE link here, I found a 4* for $195. I think this is the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach, but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

I was going to book the MTE on Hotwire for $279, but decided to give Priceline one last shot first. Glad I did.

Using the PRICELINE link here of course. :) I started back at $260 (yesterday I had to end at $255 when I ran out of re-bid zones) for a 4* hotel in ESB for Oct 27 & 28.

Got The Strand hotel for $276. While $276 is more than I wanted to spend, I came to the realization that I had to up my bids for a 4* in October. I am very happy that we got The Strand and feel like this will give us a good NYC experience. The hotel is $380-390 right now for those nights a the rack rate.

When I just looked on Hotwire at the list of hotels I could just book outright at rack rate, it showed the Doubletree Met as a 4 star. Is your info from somewhere else or do they bounce back and forth? Thanks!

The Doubletree Met has been last reported at the 3.5* level and hasn't been seen in a while.
