  1. Thanks for the reply. It appears that I've still saved 36% vs if I had booked directly with the hotel.
  2. I do have one additional question. When booking this, the hotwire site said that taxes/fees/resort fees may be collected by the hotel and when I got my confirmation email, there was a charge for tax recovery but there was a statement that the resort fee would be collected by the hotel. This doesn't make any sense because when I look at the total cost for booking on Hotwire vs La Concha's site it seems like they are "double" charging for the resort fee. Hotwire - $178/night and $61 tax and fees/night and the statement that they would collect $10/person in resort fees at the hotel La Concha - $299/night and $93 tax and resort fee/night I would expect the La Concha tax and resort charge to be higher because of the tax % being applied to a higher rate. At 15% tax rate (not sure what San Juan charges, just making a guess) the difference in tax between $178 and $299 is $20. It seems to me that through Hotwire, I've been charged the full tax and fees and shouldn't have to pay any additional at the hotel but I'm not sure how to prove that or that I am correct. Your thoughts?
  3. Finally got around to booking this using the BetterBidding Helper and got each room for $178/night not including resort fee of $10/person/night and taxes. As you said based on the full amenities, it wound up being the La Concha. Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it.
  4. After all this, we've decided to book 3 rooms for two nights as you suggested. Could you give me your best guess what hotel this is based on the amenities. I did the search through BB and then clicked on the Hotwire tab. It sounds like the La Concha as you mentioned previously but a couple of the amenities are listed differently this time. FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Resort, Near Beach, Casino, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking March 6 & 7 - San Juan Condado - 6 adults Thank you for your help. Hopefully this is the last time.
  5. Great idea. That's why you're running the website. I'll check with the others and see if they agree. I'll update what we decide. Thanks again.
  6. Staying at the same hotel is a must and as you say, if we can't get the same hotel through Hotwire on two separate purchases, we'll book conventionally. If I remember correctly the Hilton Condado is $249 so that is most likely where we'll wind up if this doesn't work out.
  7. March 6 & 7 (two nights) for two rooms, 2 adults in each room March 7 (one night) for one room, 2 adults San Juan, PR - Condado Area 4 Star rating (I think that's what I searched) Thanks
  8. I was trying to book this for three rooms but I ran into a problem in that two of the rooms were for 2 nights and the other was for one night. I called the Hotwire number to see if there was a way to book it this way but the only way it could be done was to run the search two separate ways and that brought up different amenities for the 1 night stay. Since all of us wanted to stay at the same hotel, I wasn't able to book this. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them, otherwise, thanks for your help.
  9. My search was for 4 rooms and 2 people per room for 3/7/15. I did the search as you stated then filtered for Condado. I got one to come up for $194 and the amenities are: FULL AMENITIES: Casino, Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Thanks for your help.
  10. I'm looking for help identifying the following hotel for a stay 3/7/15. It's listed as a 4 star with a rate of $360 and is available for $194. I'm looking in the Condado area. I've stayed at the Marriott Stellaris previously and would love to stay there again but am afraid of bidding and getting the Sheraton Convention Center. Amenities Casino Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessibility Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel Thank you for your help.
  11. Started bidding at $65 and increased my bid in $5 increments and adding other zones that did not have 4 star hotels. Won at $85 and total was $107 with taxes. Omni Severin Downtown Indy on Nov 2, 2013
  12. Just won the San Juan Intercontinental for 3/3/12 for $115 plus tax. I was hoping for the Stellaris as we stayed there last year but we'll see how this works out. Started bidding at $90 and went up in $5 increments.
  13. Just booked the Stellaris for one night, 3/5 for $154 and with tax the total was $180.21. Started bidding at $124 and went up in $5 increments choosing other areas that didn't have resorts. Currently, the only area other than the San Juan region that has resorts is the Fajardo region. We had a reservation at the Sheraton Casino and Convention Center for $245 so we were able to save $65.
