  1. I saw that a 3.5 hotel in this area was $83/night with Priceline Express, and thanks to the Better Bidding list I determined that the hotel was Chauncy. This hotel was acceptable to me, so I tried to get it a little cheaper using PRICELINE's Name Your Own Price. Using your Priceline Re-Bidding Explained strategy, I was able to enter multiple bids, finally winning at $81/night. A small savings but delighted me to get it even cheaper! This is commencement time at Princeton, so prices and availability will be really difficult in a short time. Thanks for your help!
  2. This area had 8 "free" bids for the 3.5 level, so I stared really low and worked my way up to $59. Of course, I used the PRICELINE links and thanks for your help at Better Bidding.
  3. Based on the info here, I started with a $61 bid as the Express price for this hotel (I think) was $73. First bid of $61 was accepted. I should have started lower as I had one "free" bid for this star level.
  4. sorry for the delay. The hotel was: Doubletree Hotel Anaheim/Orange County 100 The City Drive Orange, CA 92868 I thought I had bid in the Anaheim North bidding zone, but it looks like you are right and that this property is in the Anaheim South zone. It was a great hotel!
  5. Hello! I used the PRICELINE link from this website. I started bidding at $48 for 3 1/2 in this zone. I rebid with two zones, $50 then $55, and was accepted at the Doubletree. Thanks betterbidding!
  6. I've been on this for about two weeks now, with no luck, even bidding higher than $109. I really wanted to stay in Cambridge & I'm thrilled this finally worked out. Tonight I started at $98 and I got the "if you bid $125 you can have the room". But since I had 4 or 5 rebid zones, I took my time and finally got it at $109. Thanks for all the help I got here on the Board and I always use the PRICELINE link!
  7. I really wanted to stay in Carlisle, but having bid up to $64 for a 3* and $53 for a 2 1/2 I thought I'd better widen my search. So I bid $48 for Harrisburg West and got the screen that told me I should bid $60. Siince I had a couple of rebid zones, I went up to $51 and was accepted. I'm pretty pleased cause I got to looking at some of the 2 1/2 star reviews and they didn't look to good, and it seems like the Courtyard always pretty nice. Of course I used the PRICELINE link!
  8. I was hoping to keep it under $60. I just struck out again with bids (Carlisle 3*) up to $55. I then went up to $42 on 2 1/2* with no luck... :)
  9. I want to stay on 4/6 at a 3* in Carlisle. I started out at $44, then bid twice more up to $49 with two areas that only had a 2 1/2* and lower. Turned me down so I'll have to try again tomorrow. I used the PRICELINE links.
  10. Thanks! I'm really looking forward to it though I wish I could stay more than one night.
  11. Thanks for everyone's help! Thanks Romelle for the advice about retrying the same bids... and that Priceline putts rooms in their inventory at different times. I had not even considered that. And thanks thereuare for all the help, too! Maybe I'll find me a cheaper room to reserve just in case, and keep trying for the 4* (hopefully the LeMeredian). I'll let you know what happens and I will always use the the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links!!!
  12. Thanks for the help... I struck out! I bid as you suggested-- 4* in Cambridge up to $110. I added 4* Copley at $95, then 4* Financial to $98. Then ran out of bids... so I guess I'll have to try again tomorrow. Regular Priceline has Le Meridien, a 4*, at $158/night... heck maybe I should just book that. But I'm still wanting to do better... oh well, I'll try it again tomorrow so if you have any advice, please let me know. I really would like a 4* in Cambridge... Thanks!!! Of COURSE I used the PRICELINE link from this page.
  13. I think if I could get a 4* in Cambridge for less than $110 that would work for me... Thanks!
  14. oh sorry about that! Check out date is 4/5. Thanks again.
  15. I needed either Kensington Cromwell or Rocky Hill area, 3*. I had two "free" rebid zones of 2 1/2* or less. I started $49 at Kensington, added Rocky Hill at $52, then my free zones, with the second (& last) one accepting at $57. Crowne Plaza Cromwell 3 Star Kensington - Cromwell 100 Berlin Road Cromwell, Connecticut 06416 Happy to use the PRICELINE link, I'm saving so much on my travel!
  16. I wanted to stay in downtown Scranton so started my bidding there at $43 for a 3*. Didn't accept and I got the warning "you have very little chance of winning at that bid" (which kind of scared me & for a second I thought about upping $10!!! But no, I stayed with my plan). I went up to $45 & added a zone that didn't have a 3*, not accepted, up to $47 & added another zone that didn't have a 3* and it accepted! It looks like a nice hotel. OF COURSE I used this site's PRICELINE link!!!
  17. Hotwire shows a 3 1/2 * in Copley for $104 and a 3* in Cambridge for $112 and a 4* in Cambridge for $130. My budget had been $85, but I've done pretty well on some other bids for this trip, so I could probably do a little bit more. I would love to stay in Cambridge at the 4*. How much do you think I'd have to bid for that? THANKS for your help and I always use the PRICELINE link!!!
  18. I've been bidding on this for several days now with no success. I'm pretty familiar with all the strategy, rebidding and zones from this site, but while it's worked great for me in several other cases, I'm coming up empty on this one. I need two nights in Boston March 31st & April 1st. I would really like to stay in Cambridge, but I've bid up to $86 for a 3* for those dates in Cambridge & been turned down. I bid up to $77 for a 3* in Copley Square - Theatre District, turned down. I also bid up to $53 for a 2 1/2 star in Cambridge, turned down for that, too. So my first choice is Cambridge, then Copley, then Financial... I'm a little dubious about bidding for a 2 1/2* in Copley or Financial District as I've not been able to track down what hotels would be likely & really don't want to be stuck in a yucky one. The 2 1/2 * in Cambridge is Holiday Inn Express, which I can live with. Any advice or strategy would be greatly appreciated! Of course, I did all my bidding through this site's PRICELINE link.
  19. I researched on this site prior bids for this location... nothing recent, back in October a bidder got a 2.5* for $42. So I Thought I'd start my bidding on the 3* on $49 and it accepted immediately. Sheraton Great Valley Hotel Exton - Malvern Rtes 202 30 707 Lancaster Pike Frazer, Pennsylvania 19355 The only problem is that I'd like this hotel for Thursday night, too. I tried the link to "happy with your hotel, extend your stay" but it said rooms were unavailable. thanks for the forum and i used the PRICELINE link!!!
  20. I needed this specific area/zone. I bid yesterday at 3 & 2 1/2 stars for $53, but no luck. Today my first bid of $66 for 3* was accepted. I guess I should have started lower... but I was pretty pleased because I got the hotel the rest of our team is staying at, at $33 cheaper! I used this site's PRICELINE link!!!
