  1. Started out using the PRICELINE link, of course. Gotta represent. Bid1: 4* $95 Copley/BB= rejected Bid2: 4* $105 Copley/BB+ Brighton= rejected Bid3: 4* $115 Copley/BB+ Brighton+ Dorchester= rejected Bid4: 4* $125 Copley/BB+ Brighton+ Dorchester+ Fenway= rejected Bid5: 4* $132 Copley/BB+ Brighton+ Dorchester+ Fenway+ Medford= rejected Bid6: 4* $140 Copley/BB+ Brighton+ Dorchester+ Fenway+ Medford+ North Cambridge= Accepted Got the Loews Boston Back Bay Hotel for $140+$29.21(fees/taxes)=$169.21/night. Called them up 15 minutes later and they'd already reserved my friend and I a "Premium 2 Double" on the top floor with a view, which according to their website, normally goes for about $450/night. Extremely happy with result, and reviews for this hotel seem to be excellent. Love this site, thanks guys.
  2. Had gone through multiple downtown zones at 4* bidding from $100-165 with no luck. Restarted the zones from scratch at 3.5* and got a hit for the Copley zone at $120 after getting nothing in the Boston Commons and Harbourfront zones all the way up to $150. And of course I used the Priceline link throughout. Stoked!
  3. Was booking for a friend, hence the strict budget. Convinced him to go higher, as he was desperate to find a place downtown for the weekend. Using the the PRICELINE links, went up to $175 for 4*, 3.5* and 3* for Copley, Quincy Market, Aquarium and Convention center zones with no luck. Eventually he relented, and asked me to simply find a place for Friday, April 15th only. Was able to get the Hyatt Regency Boston at $108. Upon confirmation, was offered the chance to book another night at the Hyatt for the same price. Selected saturday as the add-on date, submitted the request, then received a message saying they were unable to find a room for the following night, oh well. Happy with the friday deal, just disappointed I couldnt get something for both dates. Friends will stay out of town on saturday night.
  4. Hey folks, I'm attempting my second booking using the priceline rebid method. Just looking for some feedback on my steps and/or strategy. Is there anything I should be doing differently? Looking for a 3.5 or better in Boston for the weekend of 4/15/11-4/17/11. Budget is quite firm at $120 max. Ideal zones to stay in(in order): 1. Copley Square - Theatre. 2. Quincy Market 3. Harbor front Aquarium 4. Waterfront Convention center. Here's what I tried yesterday: 4* Copley, $80 - rejected 4* Copley + Quincy, $82 - rejected 4* Copley + Quincy + Aquarium, $85 - rejected 4* Copley + Quincy + Aquarium + Convention C., $90 - rejected (at this point I started adding Free rebid zones) 4* Copley + Quincy + Aquarium + Convention C. + Brighton, $94 - rejected 4* Copley + Quincy + Aquarium + Convention C. + Brighton + Fenway, $98 - rejected 4* Copley + Quincy + Aquarium + Convention C. + Brighton + Fenway + Medford, $102 - rejected 4* Copley + Quincy + Aquarium + Convention C. + Brighton + Fenway + Medford + North Cambridge, $110 - rejected 4* Copley + Quincy + Aquarium + Convention C. + Brighton + Fenway + Medford + North Cambridge + South Boston, $120 - rejected (Lowered Star rating to 3.5*, but zones were grayed in, so I only really had 1 rebid left at this point?) 3.5* Copley + Quincy + Aquarium + Convention C. + Brighton + Fenway + Medford + North Cambridge + South Boston, $90 - rejected Going to try a similar approach again tonight, hoping to get some feedback/suggestions before then. Thanks.
  5. Hey, just a followup: Bid History: Montreal 4/15/11-4/17/11 4* Convention Centre/Old Montreal only. 1st bid: $65 - rejected 2nd bid: added Laval, $69 - rejected 3rd bid: added Lonueuil, $74 - rejected 4th bid: added Pointe Claire, $78 - rejected Closed browser and used Priceline link. 5th bid: Convention centre + Downtown: $81 - Rejected 6th bid: added Laval, 84$ -rejected 7th bid added Longueuil, 86$ accepted! So, Ive got the Hyatt Regency for 2 nights in april. 211.58 everything in. Seems to have favorable reviews from tripadvisor. First time going through the bidding process but only took about 10 minutes worth of bids+rebids to land a deal. Thanks for the help Thereuare!
  6. Thank you so much, I'll let you know how everything goes.
  7. Max Bid would be 100. Would also be willing to stay in the Convention centre-old montreal zone, as they have some nice 4* options. This would would give me an extra bid each go-through.
  8. Im looking to book a 4* Hotel in the downtown area of montreal for 4/15/11-4/17/11. Ive read through many threads on the site over the last few days and think Ive got the bidding/rebidding process down, but was still a little confused about how many bids I can expect to get before having to wait 24hrs/restart the browser. As an example: Montreal, 4/15/11-4/17/11, only willing to stay in downtown zone. First bid: 4* Downtown, $60. (gets rejected) Re-bid: 4* Downtown+Longueuil(No 4*'s), $65. (gets rejected) Re-bid: 4* Downtown+Longueuil+Laval(no 4*'s), $70. (gets rejected) Re-bid: 4* Downtown+Longueuil+Laval+Pointe Claire(no 4*'s), $75. (gets rejected) At this point, as far as i can tell, Ive used up all my possible zones that dont have 4* areas and havent gotten an accepted bid. What are my options at this point?Would I be able to immediately restart the whole process I just went through, with slightly higher bids, by simply restarting the browser? Or will I have to wait 24hrs? Does this strategy seem about right? Thanks in advance.
  9. I live in Halifax and would say that the shuttle is the best/cheapest method for getting out to the airport. It makes a few stops in downtown Halifax, a few more in Dartmouth and then heads out to the airport. Takes about 45 minutes from the Westin. Good luck.
