I've been trying Priceline to find an affordable hotel at DTW for night prior to my early flight. Bidding there was not going well, so decided to explore Hotwire and found a 3* for $47. The 3*'s listed on the hotel list (which I know is not all inclusive) were quite acceptable, so I bought the 3*. Surprise, surprise, it wasn't any of the 3 hotels listed, but the Clarion! And the reviews are horrible!! And I could buy the night at the hotel on their website for $54 so saved a whopping $7. Oh wait, it gets better, I could have bought the night I needed on a non-refundable rate for $46 -- so I lost $1. Never, never again will I do Hotwire... I just got royally RIPPED OFF. Is there anywhere I can complain on Hotwire where I might get a response. This really sucks....
