Can't seem to find the Hotel anymore on HOTWIRE, the whole zone is 'grayed out'. Only a 4* in San Jose West is shown... Guess I have to wait a while, have enough time ;).

Yep, those are the amenities shown for the hotel. Well looks like HOTWIRE doesn't have great deals for Dubai, booking it with hotels.com gives me a cheaper price (okay only 1 dollar ;)). Guess I go with that... Thanks !!!

Yesterday I tried Midtown West for a maximum of $110 and got no hit, today I tried again with $115 and got a direct hit for Flatotel. So I can throw my bidding plan out of the window, the Hotel looks good, the saving according to Priceline is 36%, looking at the website of Flatotel I count at 20%. Still more then $200 dollar extra to spend in New York. Overall very happy, looks like a good location for four nights in the Big Apple... Oh and for I forget (I did so I used edit), I used the PRICELINE link from here (it's my bookmark ;)). Another edit, seems like a new Priceline property, cool...

If the odds favor the Sheraton Suites I'm more leaning towards going for a stay on the island (Manhattan that is). I'm going to try my luck with Priceline once more these days and will see where that will end, always using the links from this board offcourse (their my bookmarks). And when I decided I'm more then happy to share it here...

I looked around a bit in Google Maps and thought this already, the big mall behind the Westin would be a big plus. And the connections to Manhattan also looked better. I tried Priceline with a max of $95, so I guess you're right. The price-difference would be more then $500 (2 rooms, 4 nights), so that's why I'm not sure yet what to do. Of course a place in Manhattan would be the best, but you can do a lot with $500...

Looking at the list "The Westin Jersey City" seems to be the best bet, but maybe anybody go another idea. And also looking for some experience about that bet in combination with a visit to Manahatan, looking at the "Westin" it seems only half an hour to Times Square with the subway, not bad. And the mall right behind the hotel seems even better. But the W maybe be good too???

Hyatt can't change it, because it's a PL-bidding (well, they said that, it's Hotwire ;)). But the room is a double, so he didn't think (but couldn't confirm) that it's no problem. The third person has to wait outside while two persons check in, else a small fee is no problem.

I called Hotwire to ask about the 2 person problem (well, more a dillema, I don't think it's a problem) and they pointed me to the hotel, so I went to the Hyatt website and retrieved the reservation there and that's even weirder: 1 Adults 0 Children 2 Room I think this is the default when booking a room, because Hotwire only supplies the name of the booker??? Well maybe I will call them later...

This seems like a good stop on the way back to New York. Maybe even visit Yale then next morning (how much is there to do on a Sunday)). Just too bad it's paid parking, well can't have it all... In the end very happy...

Decided to book the same hotel as the last time direct from the website. Will be using Hotwire and Priceline mostly for the US ;)

I was trying some Priceline bids, but saw this hotel on Hotwire and decided to go 'safe'. I just made a fault when booking, after selecting the persons I changed the roomnumbers, so it reset to two again without me noticing. I hope Hotwire can change it (I mailed them) or the hotel doesn't mind (how strict are they). Else it's no breakfast for one of us. All in all I'm very happy with this hotel, I don't mind missing out the nightlife and the free parking is a big plus.

Just needed a hotel to sleep after the ferry from Orient Point, so nothing fancy, low budget. Started with a $30 bid, upped it to $35 with a free rebid zone and got this one. Pretty good deal, since the same rooms online would cost me at least $270 (now with taxes just under $90). For two rooms again. Now I got to think about how to book the next hotel ;).

Started with a bid of 50 dollar, got rejected, upped it to 55 dollar and got accepted for the "Sheraton Long Island Hotel" and quite happy with it. Online price for the same period is $620, my total (including taxes) was $260. A good start for this vacation...

The Airport is a bit to far from the "Altstadt", so it looks like maybe a PRICELINE attack on a 4* hotel, or .... Will use the PRICELINE links and let the forum know.

I bid on the wrong zone once, that got me a hotel way out of the center and not for a really good deal (just a few dollars cheaper then when using Priceline direct with this hotel). Later saw the hotel on another site cheaper and called Priceline. Got the difference back and $25 extra. To ease the pain I discovered that the hotel has a free shuttle downtown and a very cheap shuttle to and from the airport. It's only for two nights, have to make due... It didn't stop me from using: Priceline

Even better, my bookmarks are those links :) And I am going to need more hotels, so I will use them a lot.
