  1. Cheers. I've clicked on the suggested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.
  2. updated Niagara post. Booked via Four Points Niagara site.
  3. didn't end up using PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. Booked directly via Four Points Niagara website.
  4. Hi, Need some help with PL bidding strategy for NOLA Downtown area. For the dates 30/3-2/4 Hotwire is advertising for the following: 4* French Quarter for $103 (possibly Sheraton base on the Smoke Free in amenities) 4* Downtown for $100 (possibly Intercontinental base on the Free Internet in amenities) On PL both Sheraton and Intercontinental belong to the Downtown area and I would like to win the Sheraton. How should I bid on PL to have a better chance of winning the Sheraton.
  5. I'm from overseas and have used priceline for hotel booking in the past but never for car rental. Does the final rental price from Priceline include insurance? With car rental do I get a choice of the location of pickup and drop off? Does Priceline offer one way Vegas to Lax car rental? Thanks
  6. These are the amenities for the Holiday Inn (Near Strip East) I have booked for 4/23 Smoke Free Rooms Airport Shuttle Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
  7. I booked the Holiday Inn through Hotwire for a night's stay for 4/23. We're thinking of getting to Vegas a night earlier on 4/22. The 3* Near Strip East Hotel for 4/22 on Hotwire is not the Holiday Inn. Is there a way on Hotwire to extend our booking for an extra night?
  8. A few weeks ago I booked a hotel in Vegas using Hotwire. I'm thinking of extending our stay in Vegas by another day staying at the same hotel. Is it possible to do so using Hotwire?
  9. Hi, Back once more to try to ID the 4* hotel currently listed on Hotwire for $86 and 90% customer approval rating. Amenities: fitness centre, pool, restaurant, business centre and internet Thanks
  10. Having kept an eye on Hotwire Toronto rates the past few weeks. Noticed the 3.5* rate dropped from $98 to $82 a couple of days ago. So started bidding 15mins ago and finally got the Delta Chelsea for $68. I now have all my hotels booked for the upcoming vacation. Thanks a lot for all your help. Hotwire advertised $82 for 3.5* 3.5* Downtown Toronto North $60 3.5* Downtown Toronto North + rebid zone1 $62 3.5* Downtown Toronto North + rebid zone2 $64 3.5* Downtown Toronto North + rebid zone3 $65 3.5* Downtown Toronto North + rebid zone9 $66 3.5* Downtown Toronto North + rebid zone12 $67 3.5* Downtown Toronto North + rebid zone13 $68 - accepted
  11. I checked your dates on HOTWIRE. 4* in Center City West / University City area Hotel cost $220.
  12. Hi All, $121 is definitely over what I have budgeted for Toronto. But would like to start looking into 4* in case they start dropping their prices.
  13. Need help identifying the Hotwire 4* Downtown Toronto East hotel for $121 on 4/8 with these amenities: smoke free, fitness centre, pool, restaurant, business centre, high speed internet, spa and has a 95% Hotwire rating. The amenities fit either the Le Royal Meridien or Westin Harbour. But neither has a rating that high.
  14. I have already started bidding on PRICELINE up to $85 for 3.5*. But really would like to stay below $80. We would be traveling by coach from Niagara Falls to Toronto. Must say I do like the location of Delta Chelsea, just a few hundred metres from the bus terminal. However it has mix reviews on Tripadvisor and PL. But seeing how low the rates were in April 2010, I am a little reluctant to bid any higher. Given this is the last hotel booking I need to make for this US/Canada trip, I may just be patient and wait a little bit before bidding again. Actually on Delta Chelsea's site advance non-refundable booking is CAD$114. So the $98 price on HOTWIRE really isn't that great.
  15. I've found room for DC, Boston, Philly on PL and Hotwire using the links on here the past few week. It's now down to Toronto. I checked Calendar of Wins on these dates for 2010 and found some amazing deals last year in April. 4/05/10 - 3.5* Toronto (Downtown North) Delta Chelsea - $56 4/05/10 - 4* Toronto (Downtown South) Inter-Continental Centre - $84 4/06/10 - 3.5* Toronto (Downtown North) Delta Chelsea - $56 4/07/10 - 3.5* Toronto (Downtown North) Delta Chelsea - $56 4/09/10 - 4* Toronto (Downtown South) Hilton Toronto - $76 4/10/10 - 4* Toronto (Downtown South) Hilton Toronto - $76 4/16/10 - 4* Toronto (Downtown South) Hyatt Regency - $70 4/17/10 - 3.5* Toronto (Downtown North) Delta Chelsea - $55 4/17/10 - 4* Toronto (Downtown South) Sheraton - $80 4/17/10 - 4* Toronto (Downtown South) Sheraton Centre - $69 There is currently a listing on Hotwire 3.5* for $98. Believe this is Delta Chelsea. All the 4* are now well over $100. Do you guys think prices would come down to these levels in the next couple of months? Know of any big events or conventions in Early April?
  16. DC and Philly done, only Boston to go. Is it likely for hotels to release rooms out to Hotwire and not Priceline? I bid up to $83 on Priceline for 3* room and still not accepted. But there is a 3.5* available on Hotwire in the same area.
  17. 3* whitehouse downtown $65 - failed but got offer from PL to bid $85 3* whitehouse downtown + rebid zone11 $67 - failed 3* white house downtown $70 - accepted
  18. How does "split your bid" work? I'm anxious in securing a room early and at the same time not by paying too much. I'm just worried rates might go higher closer to April. My budget is $80 per night pretax for a 3*, 3,5* or 4*. Preferably a place that includes complimentary wifi. Initially I started bidding for 3.5 and 4* but because of all the failed bids I moved to 3*. Plus it seems more 3* offer complimentary wifi. Thanks.
  19. Hotwire indicates a 3* in White House - Capitol Hill area for $79. This likely to be Four Points. Bid $65 on Priceline and got an offer an $85 rebid with same condition. I declined and rebid + zone with $67. Priceline rejected the rebid. Should I continue with $2 increments for each bid?
  20. Placed the following bids tonight and still no taker: 3* Copley Square - Theatre District $70 3* Copley Square - Theatre District + rebid zone1 $72 3* Copley Square - Theatre District + rebid zone2 $74 3* Copley Square - Theatre District + rebid zone6 $76 3* Copley Square - Theatre District + rebid zone8 $78 3* Copley Square - Theatre District + rebid zone9 $80 About 2 weeks ago placed an $80 bid first bid for a 4* in Philadelphia and landed Sofitel on 4/17. Boston has turn out to be more difficult.
  21. The Doubletree is a 3* on HOTWIRE. So AaronJB, think you might be right the $89 3.5* being Radisson. Strange there have not been any Radisson Boston wins reported here. I might bid for this on PRICELINE when I get home tonight. How do you think I should bid for this on Priceline? $73, $75, $77, $79.
  22. I agree the hotel rates are seasonal. Probably unlikely to get a 3.5*-4* room really cheaply in April. I used the Calendar of Wins and did a search of rates from 4/6-4/20 of last year just for comparison. The rates in April were higher than those of Jan this year. 4* rooms were in the region of $90. Perhaps I need to revise my budget for a Boston room. Actually I wouldn't mind the Radisson in Boston. It's a 3* on Priceline but does includes internet(important) and the reviews on this hotel are good. Do you think the 3.5* hotel on Hotwire for $89 is Radisson? There doesn't seem to be any Radisson Boston wins reported here on betterbidding. I think the chances of it being Doubletree is higher. The rate I booked for Doubletree is in excess of $200. But I'm confident of finding something cheaper between now and April.
