A little disappointed that a Travelodge was rated as 3 stars (as I vowed not to stay in them), but I guess these are large franchises so each one is different. Priceline wasn't being very cooperative, but I needed a room near the airport for this night. Someone was able to get this zone same star level for $45 on a Sunday night, so this seems awfully high. I was hoping to get the Phoenix Inn Suites in downtown, but got this instead. The amenities listed were the same as the Phoenix Inn which made me think I was getting that one instead of the HI Express. This was a bummer because the one downtown had a more convenient location for skiing and dining afterwards, and Priceline seems to have this listed as a 2*, although their alleged 3* hotels are questionable as well. I probably overbid as I was going to try $15 first, but Priceline's message about not a good chance of getting that bid tricked me into adding $5. I ended up getting it on the first try. I initially bid $14 24 hours ago, but it was rejected. Priceline did offer me one of their "instant" rebid options, so I bumped it to $15, and it still go rejected. Today, I decided to try again, and started at $16 which was initially rejected. Then, it still offered me another "instant" rebid, and I was initially going to put $18, but possibly overbid at $20 since I've noticed hotwire prices went up $6 /day, and regular rates were beyond astronomical ($60/day for a compact car !!!!). Just an update on the class of the car. I just looked up my reservation on Hertz's website, and it is indeed going to be a Standard Sized SUV. I was afraid it might be a Midsize SUV. Either way, it would've been a good deal.
