  1. I have bid on priceline before. I only want the San Juan zone and only 3.5* or higher, so I will not add a zone and rebid, therefore the reason I plan to bid only once per day or so. I will begin at $75 increase my bid slowly since I have many weeks to bid. If I have no luck for a while I will start over in a couple months.
  2. I will start at $75 for a 3.5* and then wait a few day to rebid the same area and increase the bid a few dollars each time. Can I do that?
  3. I was thinking I will start around $75 unless you think I should start lower since I have plenty of time to rebid?
  4. I need a room one night pre-cruise next April. It looks like priceline has lumped all the zones together but it doesn't matter what area we stay since it's just one night and we will have to rely on taxi anyway. From the research I've done the Radisson seems to win often at the 3.5* option for around $75. I don't want to pay the resort fees for the 4* hotels, so I'm thinking about trying a 3.5* and I know that priceline does sometime 'upgrade' when you bid so getting a 4* is possible. My question is has anyone had experience winning 3.5 hotels other than the Radisson? The reviews on it are mixed. I've got plenty of time so I thought I would start bidding low and just take my time looking for information. Thanks
  5. That was my guess too. I'm not crazy about the 'boutique' hotels. I'll move over to priceline and ask my next question there. Thanks
  6. Can someone help me identify the 3* in Condado for $93 with amenities free internet, smoke free rooms, pool, accessible rooms? My date is one night 4/5/14.
  7. Ok, I guess I was looking at a Holiday Inn Express on State Road in the area North of the airport, I don't see a Holiday Inn on the priceline map, so I was confused. I am trying to research these hotels on trip advisor. I may look into the downtown hotels as well, I have to stay within the area so I can use a transportation service to the port of Miami. My dates are not until next April, so I have some time to figure all this out. Also, there doesn't seem to be many winning posts for the Ft Lauderdale airport and downtown area, is this because most people are going for the beach, or is it hard to win bids in these areas?
  8. Can someone verify by address the 3* "Holiday Inn Airport" that is listed on the Ft Lauderdale airport priceline hotel list? There is more than one Holiday Inn that refers to itself as "Holiday Inn Ft Lauderdale Airport". Is it a Holiday Inn Express?
  9. A 3* or 3.5* would be fine, but thinking about starting low for a 4* just to see if I can get something for around $75-$80. I got such a good deal on priceline in March on Holiday Inn for $55, I think that's what it was, is that a possibility for Labor Day weekend? Will want downtown or FQ area. The parking is what gets me, plus $80 just to park at cruise pier for 5 days. I've looked for a hotel that has free parking for cruisers, but they stick you with a high room rate to get it.
  10. I will be bidding for a one night pre-cruise stay on 9/4. I don't see much history for winning bids during Labor Day weekend. Is this because priceline isn't a good option for a holiday weekend, or is it too soon to get a good deal? Also, should I start bidding higher because it is a long weekend? Will want downtown or FQ area 3* or 4*.
  11. Ended up with 3* Four Points Sheraton in Biloxi for $45 on 3/16. Sounds like a good deal and it's on the beach.
  12. Any idea what priceline hotels are in this zone 2 area? I didn't see it included in the list of hotels for Gulfport or Biloxi. Starts with a 3*.
  13. booked today for 2 nights 3/14 & 3/15, got up to $80 for 4* french quarter and was still rejected. So, I went for a 3* (didn't care for the 3.5* hotel list options) and won Holiday Inn Chateau Lemoyne first try for $50!
  14. ok, I'm a little confused after reading another thread on here that implies the Astor Crowne is a 4* in the french quarter section when bidding priceline? I was really hoping for Marriott or Westin. Is it possible I'll get the Astor bidding for a 4* hotel in the french quarter?
  15. Well, looking back at the winning bids I see Omni at $80 and Westin and Marriott from $70-$75. So I thought I would start with $65 and go from there? I am hoping to get in for under $75. Do you think that is reasonable? I don't want to start at $75 if I could get Marriott or Westin for less since I'm thinkin my dates are during a slow time. There is a small margin between the winning bids for the 4* so I want to begin with a conservative bid.
  16. I am ready to try bidding on Priceline for a two night stay Mar 14-16. Since this is right after mardi gras and before St. Patricks Day I am wondering if I should start fairly low? I would be happy with any of the french quarter 4* hotels I've seen won on this board, but want to get the best price I can. Any suggestions?
