  1. Are there maximum layover guidelines for 'name your own price' airfare? I want to travel from Knoxville, TN to Oranjestad, Aruba, Most all the airfares on 'airfare checker' have overnight layovers (i.e., 12 hrs +). Even if I get a low bid accepted, spending overnight in the airport or at one of my connections doesn't seem worth the hassle. I believe I read somewhere that there was a 4hr layover limit on Priceline airfare purchases from US to Caribbean??? Any info on this?
  2. Was trying to book around $55 for Louisville (Hurstbourne-Louisville East). First try rejected. Added Downtown 3.5* and upped bid to $65 and got winning bid at the Galt House - very satisfied. Maybe I could have stayed at $55 and still won - who knows. I used the PRICELINE link from this site for success.
  3. Totally blown away with this win. Tried Downtown with 4* the only district, and first bid I made was accepted. Bummeed about thereuare's team beating my Tennessee Vols on a bad call last night , but I'm leaving Indy and heading to Louisville to cheer on our Lady Vols. Stoked about this nice hotel for a great price. :D
  4. Bid $125 for 4* in Union Square East - Nob Hill. Won Hotel Adagio Autograph Collection on first try. Guess I should have started lower, but the room is super nice, and for the price I wanted. Got a Grand King corner room on 12th floor. Awesome views out of 2 sides of room. Win Win!
  5. Won a 4* in Union Square East Nob Hill. Hotel Adagio $125. Will post in Wins Forum. Thanks!
  6. Hey guys, I'm back on this thread with a new itinerary. I was able to find a small studio for 3 nights in Union Square area, but can't get in until tomorrow. What PRICELINE area would I have to try to find something for tonight (9/16) for one night, for less than $150? I just used the PRICELINE link to start my search.
  7. I'm willing to go to $175. Honestly, the backup plan is AirBnB. There are lots of choices around $150 for studios and apartments close to downtown, which gives us a lot more space.
  8. Just starting to look for deals in SF 9/16-9/20. I'm hoping to get a 4* for around $100 in Financial Dist/Embarcadero. I've seen a few of those winning bids at Le Meridien. And help would be appreciated. Thanks, Russ
  9. Decided not to venture out to further zones, and go lower than 3*. Luckily, I found a nice place on airbnb. Hopefully will have 'betterbidding' luck next time. Thanks for the advice and tips.
  10. Probably just try raising my bids or looking in further away zones.
  11. Didn't have any luck. I was going to try 2.5*. Looks like it only has one re-bid zone as well. Coney - is that correct?
  12. I'm trying to find a room in NYC from 3/28-3/31 for my son who will be visiting a friend in college there. He wants to be near 55th and 2nd Ave, which is in MTE, but anywhere I can find that puts him a 10 minute subway ride away is fine. I want to keep maximum bid below $110. My zones in order of preference are MTE, MTW, CPS, ESB. I tried 4* in MTE at $100, rejected. Added CPS, rejected. Tried $101 with same result. Obviously I haven't gone up to my limit, but just need some advice. Want a nice a place as possible. I'm willing to go down to 3* if needed to reach budget. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  13. Won on first bid - $95. I was actually trying to get Wyndham Resort or Sheraton Nassau Beach, but was pleasantly surprised by this. There are no 4* categories listed now for New Providence Island-Paradise Island.
  14. Actually, just noticed there is no 4* listing now for Bahamas. 3.5* is highest, but there is also a category for Resorts. If I'm not successful with first 3.5* bid, can I add resorts, increase bid, and not worry about winning a dumpy 2*?
  15. We're actually at a timeshare near Cable Beach for the week - want to upgrade to something for end of our stay (4-5 days) with better pool and beach access. Visited the Sheraton and Wyndham on Cable Beach - very nice pools and beach with lot of space and chairs - looks like either are nice, but I know you have to be prepared to pay these 'daily resort fees' on top of the winning price (Wyndham is $32/day per room). On the hotel list forum they are both shown as 3.5*, with the Hilton Colonial near downtown showing 4*. I found wins for the Sheraton around $90, and a bit higher for Hilton - nothing on Wyndham. Is Wyndham still selling rooms on Priceline? I know they have deep discounts on the travel sites. I was planning on starting around $85 with 3.5, then adding 4* and upping to $95 if I don't win. Thoughts?
  16. Bid $70 for 4* Downtown - rejected. Bid $75 for 4* Downtown and added Hixson (there are no 4*) - ACCEPTED.
  17. Wanted 4-star in Downtown pre-cruise. Hoping for Hyatt because there is an Enterprise rental car office in the hotel, and that's what we're driving. First bid was $79 and it was accepted. Guess I should have started lower, but I'm pleased.
