  3. Used the PRICELINE link from this board. Entered a bid of $60 for two nights 2/25 - 2/27. It was accepted by Wingate By Wyndham. I didn't want to keep coming back over the next couple of days stepping up my bid. There was only one area so no opportunity for mutliple bids.
  4. First bid of $35 was rejected. I was invited to immediately re-bid $45, I did not. I bid $40 a two days later and it was accepted. Used PRICELINE link from this board in both cases. 5. I am looking for a room from 7/27 - 8/1. I have placed the following bids: 2.5* Forest Park - Clayton $38 (I was warned by Priceline that this was too low.) 2.5* Forest Park - Clayton $47 3* Forest Park - Clayton and Hazelwood $55 Should I keep walking my price up with re-bids on 3*s? Do you think I'm way too low?
  6. Placed a bid for $53 for a 2.5* for Midland using the PRICELINE link from here. There is only one zone and a friend said they have a room for $53. It was accepted by the Holiday Inn Midland.
  7. Started my bidding through the PRICELINE link provided by betterbidding.com. I couldn't find any recent bid history in this area. 1st bid, $40 for a 3* in Fairlawn was accepted by the Radisson Hotel Akron/Fairlawn, 200 Montrose West Avenue. We ended up needing to stay another night. We started at $35 and it was accepted. See my other priceline hotel post.
  8. Used the PRICELINE link on Betterbidding 1st bid, $35 for a 3* in Fairlawn was accepted by the Radisson Hotel Akron/Fairlawn, 200 Montrose West Avenue.
  9. 1st bid 3*, $41 Dayton South - rejected 2nd bid 3*, $45 Dayton South + Huber Heights - rejected 3rd bid 3* + 2.5*, $45 Dayton South + Huber Heights - accepted for 2.5* Doubletree Guest Suites Dayton/Miamisburg I used the PRICELINE link supplied by BetterBidding. Dates 1/22/2010 - 1/24/2010
  10. First bid was for 3.5* at $53 for St Louis (Forest Park-Clayton). It was rejected. I was invited to revise my bid. I added 3* and kept the price at $53. My bid was accepted by the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel.
  11. Placed 1st bid for $40 for a 2.5*. It was rejected. Took a 2nd free bid by including Ozark and keeping 2.5* for $45. It was rejected. Since I came across acceptable accomodations for less than $50 from other websites, I will probably not continue bidding.
  12. I forgot to post this back in May when I got this. Better late than never. Hopefully this can help out a future traveller. Placed a bid on 5/21/08 for a 2.5* in Dayton North. First bid of $45 was accepted at Hawthorn Suites Dayton North. Three nights 6/6/08 - 6/9/08 with taxes and fees came out to $162.07. At check-in we got a Penthouse Suite. No cheaper rooms available since we checked in late.
  13. 3 star first bid for "Indianapolis North - Fishers" was $45, rejected. Entered a second bid including "Indianapolis Northwest" of $50, rejected. Third bid included "Indianapolis South" at $55, accepted. Dates 5/2/08 - 5/4/08, $110 + $25.61 taxes, total $135.61. This worked out pretty well as the hotel was only about three miles from where I am visiting.
  14. I bid $40 per night for Cincinnati North - Sharonville. My bid was accepted by the Sheraton North. Started from the savingsbarn.
  15. This was at the Marriott Racine, 7111 Washington Avenue. I guess it would be considered a full Marriott. I was not upgraded. This is a 2* facility. There are no 3* facilities listed in Racine on priceline. It was a decent property. Probably should be rated as a 3* More details on the bidding. Started at $30 and went up in $5 increments to $55.
  16. I placed a bid for a 2* for $55 with PL. It was accepted by the Marriott.
  17. I am looking for a room in Racine, WI for next weekend (2/4/07). On Priceline, they list 2 hotels in the 3* category (A Comfort Inn and a Marriott). The Comfort Inn is listed at $54 and the Marriot is $99. Do I have any kind of hope to get the Marriott? What kind of strategy can be used here? I'm afraid of bidding too low to get the Marriott and ending up paying too much for the Comfort Inn. Hotwire shows one 3* at $88. I'd assume this is Marriott. But, it could be someone else. Hotwire also shows a 1* for $49. I'm thinking that is probably the Comfort Inn or Super 8. I do have a reservation for the Marriott for $85 that is cancellable. I was told that the breakfast buffet is not available to me at that rate.
