Hello All, Needing you help once again, as you save the day with my priceline Los Angeles booking!!! I notice there isn't much info on possible 4* hotels in Cannes. Wanting to book for 5 days, 12-17 May, but no idea how much would be acceptable and also what hotels we might end up with (as when booking for LA you have an idea on what has been one before). Our budget is ideally 650 (so no more than 700 dollars with taxes), no more than 130 dollars if possible, but much less than this would be excellent!! Any help/ideas would be great. Have started the bidding from 90 dollars and have gone up to 112 so far, although, I also appaear to have a voucher in my inbox starting that an extra 25 dollars can be added to my bids when I want to use it (to have more of a chance of winning), I didn't want to try and use it in case of wasting it. Also I wanted to bid using PRICELINE not HOTWIRE (but didn't realise I had listed this in the wrong forum will try and change!) Many thanks Guys and have a great day!! :)

Hey Guys, OK so firstly can I say you Guys ROCK!!! I've turned into a Yankey in 10 days LOL!! Secondly we had such a great time and most of it was thanks to all the help and advice you gave in helping us get the hotels we did. So we manged to get from the 16th-20th Jan, The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza - Avenue of the Stars for $110. This hotel was beautiful, modern decor amazingly friendly staff and the food was amazing. It is on Avenue of the stars which is a great location and a little more quiet than other areas (which was great) although it is not too far from Hollywood which feels a little more city like (if anyone is from London I would describe Hollywood/west Hollywood to be similar feel to west end) We then bidded a little higher for the start of our stay from the 10th - 15th, going up from $95 up to $130 using the kind of strategy you posted, and two email addresses and cards (my friend and I) to get a few more bids in and got the.... Intercontinental - Centry City - Avenue of the stars. We got this initially from the 10-15th, but here is a handy tip that you may already know but just in case, my friend noticed on the print out that you are sometimes given an option on your confirmation of hotel to extend your stay!! I know I did not even notice this before, and it was also an option on the previous booking. I stated that it is only for a limited time, and it is not always that they do it, so I clicked on the link and i worked so we got to stay there for the 6 days in the end!! It was absolutely amazing!!!! I would say the Hyatt rooms had more modern decor and that the Intercontinental rooms had a more classic decor, which was just as great, but they were both 1st class 4* hotels, in safe areas (which was a concern for me) and the Intercontinental had loads of added perks (at no extra cost) like internet usage, house car, free sauna access. But to be honest we were both taken aback at how lucky we were to have stayed at both hotels and even though we did go slightly over budget we saved loads in comparison to what they actually charged. In addition the staff made us feel so welcome and didn't make us feel any less important which was great. But just to say a MASSIVE thank you once again for this amazing site and your patience with us we are truly grateful and will definitely be using your forum again!!! Hey Guys, Thanks so much for all your help, we manged to get a bid accepted for $130 dollars from the 10-15th and also for another hotel from the 16th-20th, although, we are one day short (15th) I am sure we can try bidding or have a look round when we get there, liek you advised I pray it goes well!! Thanks for your help Colfax, still no luck at the mo! I went up to to 125 before running out of re bid zones, although, we have ruled out Hollywood as a area as most of the reviews for those that are on offer are not too good, so tying to stick with the BH-WH area. Will try again tomorrow (f I cnt figure out another way to bid tonight), hopefully the will accept tomorrow as I think I read somewhere you have to book 48hrs in advanced! Hello Guys, Ok so... We would ideally like to stay anywhere close to the west hollywood\Beverley hills area, we will be spending most of our time in the west hollywood area, and I will be arranging a hire car to drive (should be fun trying to organise that lol), so didn't want a hotel too far from there if possible! Also from the reviews we definitely would like to avoid any 'dangerous areas' like downtown just in case :)...so the main areas we would like are West Hollywood, Beverley Hills and Hollywood and avoid the other zones. I took all your advice and was able to make various bids (at to be fair unrealistic prices) to have a go at the 5*..... So a strategy for a nice 4* in the two zones, would be fantastic!! In regards to staying in 2 different areas for the first half and second half we did actually consider that and would not also mind that option if it means we could get a better choice of hotels!!! Apologies if any of the is confusing I am having to use my bb for next few days!! So just to clarify would like: - A 4* or above hotel - In west hollywood, bev hills, hollywood area - don't mind splitting the time at 2 hotels Thanks again for all the help!

Hey thanks for the post and sorry for the delay!....Our dates are 10th - 20th Jan! Any help would be greatly appreciated, we would have loved the Andaz, or something else to the standard, possibly Sofitel? (but of course on a bit of a budget). Wishful thinking but hoping there may a way! Flights are all booked so would love to get Hotels sorted as soon as possible. Many thanks Happy New Year to you all BTW! :)

I have noticed that the Andaz doesn't appear to of have had many wins in a while, so really praying that we may get lucky with cotninuing to bid on the 5*.
