And I got a room that has the meal calendar dated back August !! :) That means this room has been vacant since then ... It is October!!!
This is a wonderful hotel, wondering why people don't come??? even at $32 ??
So, I guess the two patterns now for this hotel bidding ...
1. Starting with $32 and ended it got $34 ...
2. Starting with $31 and ended it got $32 ...
It would be interesting if someone has other pattern ...
In either case, this hotel worth much more than value than the cost, and it is not crowd still, I guess it would be like Hyatt Jersey City before when people could get it at $37 or lower. I was glad that I got that Hyatt many times before, and I will make sure I got enough nights at this wonderful Summerfield Suites before it raises the price ... :)

If you are going to get $32, you have to bid $31 first and it will counter $8 and you reject and add another zone and bid again at $32, then you will get it ... Sorry, there is no 1st bid to win $32 now ... I did it weeks ago ...

Still wondering if $35 has been of the past, try to bid on 2.5* at $35 again on 10/7/06 and got rejected, add Bridgewater zone and bid $37, rejected, add another Edison zon bid $38, rejected, add Cateret which does not have 2.5* as free rebid and bid $40 and got this:
"We're sorry, but we can't accept your offer of $40 for a hotel room in the Somerset - Brunswick, NJ area. Your credit card has not been charged for Request Number xxx-xxx-xxx-xx." :)
This is very strange since the website rate is only $73 ... :)
Just wondering if I can get $32 any more? so I bid $32 on 10/6/06 Friday, well, I got the same $ 8 countered as below:

Refused and add $1 on Morristown zone, rejected.
Just curious if I can get at $34 since there are more time to try later, so add $1 on last zone, and got it !!!
Still wondering if $37 has been the history, so tried it again on different date 9/29/06 Fri and got the following

This is stange since the website price dropped from normal $79 to $77 ...
So, rejected and add 2*, knowing there is no 2* hotel in Basking Ridge, at least I never hit one for all these years ... and add $1 and accepted an upgraded...

Somehow, not too many people here this weekend, parking lots have many vacant lots ... guess they increase the minimum ... some lost bid ...
The one at Princeton was Summerfield Suites, much nicer, bigger, e.g. they have only 1br or 2br suites ...
The one at Cranbury is built 100% Staybridge ... so you may obtain studio suite... still very nice ...
Since I could not get other hotels like Courtyard Basking Ridge ...etc, I have to come back to bid this hotel again at $32 on 2.5*, but to my surprise, I got this ...

This hotel is best used at Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival since it is right next to the event at Edison Municipal plaza where the events hold. Last year I went, I saw tens of thousands of people came to this new events, and I was convinced Edison NJ is going to be the Chinatown of New Jersey ...
Another good time to use this hotel is during Chinese New Year, there is a Chinese New Year Parade on the same street ... Chinese New Year Parade
Ok, this year's Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival would be 10-6-06 but the celebration would be 10-7-06 Sat from 3pm to 11pm ... according to World Journal
So, I am trying to bid a room at 10/7/06, but I was not able to get one from $35, $37 to $40 ... but the hotel website rate is only $73 :) Why?
You could have got this hotel for $35. I never missed at this price, so are people I referred to, but never lower than this price....
By the way, did you try the NYC charter bus from the hotel directly to Manhattan? both downtown and midtown? $7.5 oneway and $15 round trip...
Somehow, I could not get it at $40 for October 7, 2006 tonight ... very strange I was always able to get it at $35 ... Just curious anyone got this hotel recently ?
Also, the NYC Charter Bus from the hotel directly to Manhattan has been cancelled, no longer bus from this hotel to NYC, guess not too many people interested in. But, they said still have shuttle to Newark Airport ... They seems to obtain a big contract from UPS ...
Bidding $35 on 2.5* to start with ... countered $9, and accepted and got Courtyard by Marriott at $44 ... :)
Bid $44 at 3* hotel at Bridgewater and counter $13, accept, got $57 ... :)
This is very nice newer hotel right across street to nice Bridgewater Commons Mall, and there is a nice Borders not far away...

Somehow could not get $37 on 9/22/06 ... very strange ... Anyone got this hotel at $37 recently ?
I arrived after midnight Friday night and saw the parking lot pretty full (remeber? I got a bad/good habit to drive around a hotel parking lot before check in...), I thought, Oh my God! and I was right, I got the LAST unit, a ground floor unit that is "smoking room". Too bad, can not changed, no non smoking room left ...
No problem, I went back to car and get my personal purifier got from Shaper Image to filter out all the smokes and smells, just take 15 minutes, the whole unit smell great, better than non-smoking room. I learn this years ago from Wyndham Willmington DE. We hit the same situation, no non-smoking room left, but manager told me no problem, and when we came back 30 minutes later could not believe our nose, it smelled totally differently. So, what was the tip? a air purifier...
Well, it did not end there. The TV/VCR did not work, but I managed to fixed it for my kid. Then the stove did not heat, both not work!!! Front desk was surprised that we cook late dinner after midnight :) Well, later I called front desk that I fixed the stoves; it is so simple, I think the maid clean the stove, and forgot to "plug in" the connectors. Then, there was another thing, the refrig did not make ice cube ... as you can guess, I fixed it as well. The only thing now was no pillow nor sheets for sofabed, but front desk came deliver very fast, so I gave the young man good tips. I guess they may not have a need to sell this room for a long long time... But it is nice, the bath with "pocket door" and curve rod curtain... Oh, one last thing I fixed for this room is the Internet. It was after midnight and did not work, front desk could not help, theirs not work either ... any got it work later ...
This morning was great, as last week, very happy to enjoy the complimentary hot breakfast with all the hot itmes I like, but apparently more crowd ...
I also saw from other publications saying it is going to call "Hyatt Place", so not sure if "Hyatt Select" is still the one.
Helping someone to bid on 9/14 at last minute and got this extra day.
Bid $30 at 2.5* Parsippany NJ on 9/14, got nothing, not even the familiar $8 counter ... Bid again at the same price but change date to 9/15, still rejected, still no $8 counter ... Thought may be getting more crowed since more people know the great deal ... So, bid again added another zone at $32 ... Got it!!! :)
I was told that this nice hotel was going to start renovate the lobby and breakfast in October, not sure how the complimentary breakfast going to be served ...
They will start renovating the guest room starting January 2007 since they have been acquired by Hyatt, now I saw the business card says "Hyatt Select" ...
The complimentary hot breakfast buffet is wonderful as usual... the bed is very comfortable, got very good sleep after nice breakfast... Staff are nice, no need to clean up but gave all we need on clean towel, gave them good tip to make their day...
I got it extended one more day on 9/8 Fri, so, here I am!!! :)
Very happy to be here, and now waiting to eat complimentary hot breakfast ... :o
Not too may cars at the parking lots, so you all should come visit ... for $32, you can't beat!
Do you know this wonderful hotel is acquired by Hyatt? and soon you going to see plasma TV in the room ... :)

Have to send my kid to school this morning for their Keys club Great Adventure rally, and got up at 6am to drive him over and saw the parking lot is very full!!! :) that's great!
When I came back at 8am and there are so many people at breakfast ... nice feeling ... :)
