  1. There were one more PL experience worth to note. Since we decided to extend, trying to verify this new 11am deadline, and got it through at 10:50am, but later got call that PL did not pay for it ... but when we got back now, we were told PL's payment did come back later ... So, I guess, the extension close to check out time may cause some confusion, but do not need to panic! It may be for this hotel, in particular, since almost all hotels I went with standard 12pm check out time, whereas this hotel check out time is 11am ... I believe they should change, but they may have their own concern.
  2. Later of the day, I decide to walk over to Rittenhouse Square, and along Walnut St, catch another U Penn professor, philosophy, so we chat and discuss some issues and exchange some questions and answers till reach his car. He told me that the street parking on Sunday at Walnut is FREE, and even more valuable, he said he always parked there when he came to U Penn on Sundays ... no problem, very safe. So, I guess, next time I come to visit the museum Dahamar mentioned would just drive to park here
  3. As soon as got off R6 train at University of Penn station, only two blocks away, I saw this wonderful museum ... but it did not open today ... but it will Tue to Sun during school year ... :) But that's ok, we just walk over to the auditorium to join the new students training ... and listen to the Law Professor speech and others ... that's great like we were at MIT last year, so my kid got a feeling as student here ... :) Now, I am at their nice student Union ... pool table $3 per hour, kids love it ... and free Internet surf and all other campus link info ... :o
  4. This time is much easier... Just walk two small blocks over to Conshohocken train station, but because forgot to check R6 schedule from front desk, the train just left ... :) So, waiting at the train station, doing nothing, so, just picking up the garbage for the train station like I always pick up the garbage at Dunellen Train station waiting NJ Transit to Newark... Amazing, picked up hundreds of pieces!! So, if you see the station very clean now, I got some credit ... :) Saw many people biking on the bike trail along the railroad on the other side, I was told the bike rail, in fact, will go all the way to Valley National Park on west bound about dozen miles, and on east bound will go all the way to Fairmont Park boat house to Museum of Art and Phiadelphia ... so cool for those who bike... :o Train coming, and we bought $15 round trip family pass, but this time we did not get off Suburborn station for City Hall, nor Market East for Chinatown, but we took the R6 train all the way pass 30th St Station and got off at Univ of Penn... So cool! then we just walk over to the University ...
  5. Last night my house lost electricity, so went out to bid a hotel and got his nice hotel at first bid ... :) No problem to drive over in the bad weather ... and this morning is great sunny day here, so, will continue Philadelphia trip today ... Watch Spain vs Greek basketball champion game this morning before wonderful complimentary hot buffet... nice feeling, great day... :) Gave the cafeteria ladies each $20 tip to make their day ...
  6. Taxi is the best... Last time my sister came, it costs about $40 ... Think about $30 valet parking each day, $40 taxi is nothing ... :) She grab the taxi at parking lot since my car is not big enough for all the luggage ...
  7. True. This is a very nice hotel ... don't miss the nice long retagular shape pool with great view ...
  8. By the way, I did visit the Museum of Art last Sunday, and, as you said, it was "donate as wish", so I took a look at the membership cost $90, so I divided it by 9 and donate $10 ... I guess that's about the cost we pay as members of most museums ... Averagely we visit 9 to 12 times of a museum each year if member ... There were no problem to find free parking at the "rear" of the museum, and I have found this museum is wonderful, my older kids start able to appreciate ... we join the guided tours and some mates told me that they came form Austrilia and that was the 2nd tours they joined, they were here last Sunday as well ...
  9. Congratulations!!! On the other hand, I just bid $42 but got rejected ... :) But I had a great time there last weekend ... 2 blocks from Conshohocken train station to Philadelphia, only 30 minutes ... If you mentioned me to the staff at breakfast area, they will like you very much, I gave them each $20 tip last weekend to make their day ... they are really nice people and made may stay very happy ... When you visit the shopping center, get some Steak and hot dogs at Giant supermarket and come back to BBQ at pool side and basketball court, you will meet some nice neighbors ... and had great time...
  10. http://bwnt.businessweek.com/polls/live_re...082119172467980 Somehow does not show betterbidding.com in the voting ... http://www.businessweek.com/technology/bes...ripplanning.htm
  11. First bid and got it again!!! :) So cool!!! I used to pay $79 to $129 for this wonderful hotel !!!
  12. Yes, I ran out of all weekends on this Hyatt from Jan to March ... so ... :)
  13. Dahamma told me someone got the hotel at $78, and I just tried it ... and got it!!! :)
  14. no, my kid has no sense of that; in fact, my kid wanted a "suite room" :) ...
  15. My kid just showed me this hotel and I would like to learn a strategy to get this hotel at good price if anyone knows ... http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/pro...o_section_2Link
  16. I just did what you did, trying to bid a hotel on 9/8 to 9/9 at Clark NJ area ... and I see what you were talking about. Basically, you hit an "exception". In normal cases, when you enter a city, say, Jersey City, NJ, and it is a "unique" city, so it automatically go to all the related zones and maps for you to start bidding ... Since, PL seems not yet work out Clark area, their database has some "non unique" cities, like Clark. So, this intermidiate screen pops out to let the user choose which one they really mean ... So, in your case, simply choose the one will include all Clark - Westfield zone, Newark, Jersey city, ...etc. Then you "check" the zone you want to bid on ... Again, it is just that PL will have to work on to clear this area ...
  17. Just passed this nice hotel on the way back off Rt 1-North, and I was glad to see that the brand new hotel building next to this hotel now has a sign - Homewood Suites Princeton ...
  18. Dear Smile, Do you realize you were, in fact, the FIRST ONE to uncover this wonderful bid for the board? :) Without your posting, I could not have been able to follow up to find the minimum of this Summerfield Suites... :) . As I told Gary, this is called "team bidding"; we need to have pioneer, and also have first or second follow up, and the "optimal" will saturated very quickly ... I believe it would help many who needs affordable cost of hotels and hotels which need to realized their surplus, and this wonderful board helping to expedite the process would also help PL and every one!!! I always trying to find and posted lowest bid I could find because I feel filling vacant rooms is the best to hotels, PL, customers ... besides, hotel maids, staff, ...etc do count on the tips from customers ... By the way, this suite hotel is one of our favorites, and we have been using this hotel since many years ago, so if you have any question about the hotel and the area, please feel free to ask ... I would, (and I am sure many others would too), trying to share the info and experience ...
  19. I just checked and, yes, the extend link is still there to click, Garry is totally correct, and this new 11am dealine to extend is wonderful!!! :) However, I have decided to move on ... Thanks for the Smile to uncover this $35 Summerfield Suites at Whippay NJ ... I found out I could get $32 on that hotel; that's never heard of; the best I knew was $45... Well, I already book quite a few nights, and all of sudden, I felt I really got some extra cash to spend :) I extend that great feeling to the ladies at breakfast area; I gave them each $20 tips to make their day!! :o and they were really happy ... They asked me when to come back and I really feel I am leaving my aunt's home like when I was a kid. :)
  20. Very True... This price is like never heard of :) Besides, Summerfield Suites at Whippany is good for winter time, and it does NOT have studio suite, meaning you will get at least 1br suite :)
  21. Bid $30 on 2.5* and counter back to add $8, ignored, add another zone, bid $31, rejected; add last zone and bid $32, got it !!!! :)
