  1. One of the two Marriott properties near Disneyland (the other being the Anaheim Marriott). This hotel is on the corner of S. Harbor and Chapman. Just remember to check to make sure that you go to the right Marriott since they are both within .5 mile of each other! The hotel is fairly new and all of the rooms are some type of a suite. I won our room through priceline for $54 a night, total steal for it being on Mother's Day weekend! We had the king suite, the basic room that they had. The suite was 2 separate rooms, a living room and then a separate walled off bedroom with a king bed which was one of the best night sleeps we have ever had! The living room and bedroom are separated by a French door. Both the living room and the bedroom had LCD TV's with basic cable. The bathroom was nicely lined with marble tile and had a nice bath/shower. The living room also had a sofa in it which had a separate full size bed in there, which would be good if we had kids. Aside from the room itself, the hotel has FREE parking which is something that you will not find with any other hotel near Disneyland. It is important to remember that this hotel is about a mile from Disneyland and I did not see a "free" shuttle but there is a resort bus which comes around for a fee that will take you to the park, much cheaper then paying Disney's $15 a car parking. The hotel also has a 5 foot deep outdoor swimming pool along with a jacuzzi. We went out to use both and we were the only people there. They also have outdoor fire pits for use! Lastly, there is a Starbucks inside the hotel, which is great if you like your coffee in the morning. Overall this was a steal of a hotel for the price paid and I highly recommend it to ANYONE looking for a quality hotel on the cheap that is close to Disneyland!
  2. First try at Waikiki area and got this resort property for $94 a night, which was my high for starting out. Average cost on their website is $209 a night. started 60 Waikiki Beach Area 70 Waikiki City Central 80 Diamond Head Area 90 Executive Center 94 Honolulu Airport Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $94.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $282.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $51.12 (USD) Total Room Cost: $333.12 (USD) Used the PRICELINE links
  3. First hotel booked for upcoming honeymoon in October. Used PRICELINE and bid up to $130, decided to go with HOTWIRE since I saw this hotel for $160 and I was fairly sure that it was the Westin. In addition to the price, I used Hotwire since I did not want to get the Whaler hotel on Priceline even though no one has received that hotel for a couple of years, just wanted to play it safe. Average night stay through Westin's website was $319 a night! 4. I clicked on the HOTWIRE link, I also used the link to find this offer. Is there other information needed?
  5. I found a 4* hotel on Hotwire and I was hoping that someone would help identify in Ka'anapali (near Lahaina). I believe that it is either the Westin or the Sheraton, but leaning more towards the Westin since there is no laundry amenity identified as is identified at the Sheraton. I have ruled out that it was the Hyatt since the Hyatt does not identify smoke free rooms. 6. I won this hotel on PRICELINE for $91 for the night of 3/25/11. The hotel was situated less than 4 blocks of Union Square and about 12 blocks (15 minute walk) from Little Italy "North Beach," so it is a great location for the price. Also there are two BART stations (Montgomery and Powell) within a 2-6 block walk which also have MUNI connections. As for the hotel, the entry way was really nice. Front desk staff was very prompt and check-in was easy and painless. They did have a free "bottomless" wine event from 5:30-6:30 but unfortunately we were not able to make it :) They asked if we would like an upper or lower room, I choose the upper since it would be further away from street traffic, somewhat worked. Like almost all non-chain hotels in San Francisco this building was built in the 1910's or 1920's, and the architecture does show in the room and especially the bathroom. This is not a bad thing and does not mean out of date, it simply is to say that the design of the hotel is not "modern" and not something that you would see at a Marriott, Westin, or Sheraton, which are all brand new high rises. We had a king standard bedroom. When you walked into the room there was a TV on a small dresser which had free amenities such as tea and coffee, along with the expensive "pay" items. There was a desk, chair and ottoman, and two nightstands. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well that night. The heating is done through a radiator and the cooling is from a wall mounted unit. The bathroom really reminded me of older hotels just in the way it was laid out. It has small little tiles, the bathtub was really long, and there was an escape door in the bathroom, must have been a fire escape in the past. There was also a pedestal sink along with a mirror and toilet. Parking was available at around $35 a day PLUS a 14% tax. I found a garage on Sutter street between Kearny and Montgomery where it was only $27 for a 24 hour period, while still a little pricey I guarantee that is the cheapest that you are going to find in downtown San Francisco. Overall it was a great 3.5* hotel and I would recommend it to individuals who are looking for a place to stay near Union Square.
  7. Started bidding at $50 and worked up to $91 ($113 with tax) through adding other zones I was willing to stay in and other zones that did not have 3.5* or higher. Ended up with the Galleria Park which is retailing online for $199 a night. This hotel works out well since in-laws are staying at the Marriott Marquis which is 5 blocks away. I used the PRICELINE link
  8. Started at $30 and was hoping for a winning bid for a 3.5* or higher in either of two zones (Disneyland Garden Grove or Disneyland Anaheim). 5 bids were rejected when increasing price and adding new non 3.5* zones until I was accepted at $54. Came to $68 with taxes, which is great for a room where the hotel has a published rate of $159 I used the PRICELINE link from these fourms.
