Looking at the hotel listing, I notice that there are alot of cross outs for Northstar. Having been to the property already, I know that there are alot of different types of rooms available. Therefore, all the different amentity descriptions may apply!

I'm not sure what type of room I have been assigned, but Northstar website shows a lowest price of $118/night for a room with similar ammenities. Not a huge savings, but anything helps!

This would be a fantastic ski-in/out location. They gave me a condo right on the slope. Kitchen was very nice.

The Atlantis hotel was cheesey, but fine. I would not rate it a 4* hotel, more like 3*. Nice amenities, but it could use a facelift and new linens.

I had a great room. I was upgraded to a room with a hot tub IN the room (right next to the bed!).

On another note, I called the hotel to find out what tower my room is in. I'm in the "Luxury Tower". Checked it out on the website, doesn't look 4 * to me. The hotel assures me that it is....we'll see!

Rooms: Recently renovated. Fairly large standard rooms.

Property: Well kept, but poortly laid out. The pool is in the parking lot, far away from the beach. They have some nice walking trails and make a good attempt of keeping a "jungle-like" nature feeling to the place.

Beach: Man-made, but so are most beaches in the keys! New lounge chairs. Beach bar.

Pool: Could be bigger, but it has a nice waterfall and bar/restaurant seating area.

Restaurants/Bars: More than a few to choose from.

Location: Quiet, but central.

Overall: A quality property. I would highly recommend it.

Other: Beware of the $7/day resort fee charged to everyone, including Priceline visitors.

I am indeed happy with my Priceline win! The beach is very close to the airport (approx 5 miles) and I'd rather hear the ocean than the roar of the planes.

Just passing through the city and needed a hotel near the airport for 1 night. Luckily, in Fort Lauderdale everything is by the airport!

However, now I needed a second room for the dates of 5/26-5/31. I created a new thread because the dates of stay are different and the experience was all together different. Maybe because it's the holiday weekend, maybe because the date is fast approaching, who knows...but it was much harder to get this second room!

Because I wanted to get a room close to the one I already had in the USW and maybe in the same hotel, I started with a Boutique hotel in the USW.
