I couldn't get a room on Priceline (I'll write about that later...) so I found this on Hotwire. This would be a fantastic ski-in/out location. They gave me a condo right on the slope. It's over the 24hr period that Priceline will refund the difference, but I went ahead and wrote them anyway. Here is my note: "I found the hotel room I won on Priceline at a cheaper rate, directly from the hotel's web site. I paid $40/night. They offer $30.95. Please refund the difference." We'll see what happens! On another note, I called the hotel to find out what tower my room is in. I'm in the "Luxury Tower". Checked it out on the website, doesn't look 4 * to me. The hotel assures me that it is....we'll see!

June 2005 Rooms: Recently renovated. Fairly large standard rooms. Property: Well kept, but poortly laid out. The pool is in the parking lot, far away from the beach. They have some nice walking trails and make a good attempt of keeping a "jungle-like" nature feeling to the place. Beach: Man-made, but so are most beaches in the keys! New lounge chairs. Beach bar. Pool: Could be bigger, but it has a nice waterfall and bar/restaurant seating area. Restaurants/Bars: More than a few to choose from. Location: Quiet, but central. Overall: A quality property. I would highly recommend it. Other: Beware of the $7/day resort fee charged to everyone, including Priceline visitors.

I already won a bid for and won a room in a 4 * Boutique hotel in the USW for $85 staying 5/27-5/30 (see original posting dated May 14 2005). However, now I needed a second room for the dates of 5/26-5/31. I created a new thread because the dates of stay are different and the experience was all together different. Maybe because it's the holiday weekend, maybe because the date is fast approaching, who knows...but it was much harder to get this second room! Because I wanted to get a room close to the one I already had in the USW and maybe in the same hotel, I started with a Boutique hotel in the USW.
