Incremented re-bids until $70 was accepted for the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor At Camden Yards. $88.63 w/taxes & fees. Hotel website shows this room at $252.94 (incl. taxes/fees) for the same night. Baltimore hotels are irritating with their extra charges. This one charges $26/day for garage parking & $12.95 for in-room wifi (free in public areas), but at least no "resort fee."

Needed a hotel for 2 nights for the University of Maryland 2013 Commencement. Bid 3-stars in College Park, Greenbelt, Hyattsville & even Laurel up to $63 - all rejected. Started over with Gaithersburg & incremented until $55 was accepted for the Hyatt House Gaithersburg. $133.18 for 2 nights w/taxes & fees. Hotel website shows this room at $204.93 (incl. tax) for the same nights. The distance to campus is not ideal, but the rate is decent considering my high-demand timing & the Hyatt House offers interesting suite-type accommodations

PRICELINE bids for a 3-star in Reading, PA up to $49 were rejected. Received a special one-day email offer from HOTWIRE which showed a 3-star in Reading, PA for $50 & took it (normal HOTWIRE for the same hotel looks like $53). Total for 2 nights incl taxes/fees: $120.03. Booking through hotel website shows $252.82 for the same room w/taxes, fees & a ridiculous $25 extra person fee. HOTWIRE was nice for this one because I could specify my requirement to accommodate 3 adults.

With taxes & fees the total cost for my stay is $224.97 vs. $396.88 on the Hilton website for their advance-purchase discounted deal for the same 3 nights. Decent savings, but rates seem to be up 30% in Charlotte vs. last winter.
