  6. Gotta love Nashville with so many re-bid zones at the 3* level. Started bidding at $41 and got counter-offer to add $12. Continued adding re-bid zones at $43, $46 and won at $48. 2 nights $48 per night = $96 + 25.94 fees = $121.94 total
  7. Used Savings Barn link. Bid $66 yesterday. (No re-bid zones at 3* level and I had bid 4* up to $81) Got a little panicky today and bid $72, one dollar higher than a compatriot who won for this same timeframe. Won today. Doubletree rooms on Travelocity are running $149 per night. I'm back from a long travel hiatus and I'm thrilled to see the new Calendar of Wins. Great innovation and timesaver!
  8. Used SavingsBarn link. Won on first bid of $43. Price $43 + tax/fees = $56.48
  9. Won on first bid for Compact. $8 per day for 9 days = $72 + tax/fees = $145.83. Used Savings Barn link. Thanks Better Bidding!

  11. $79 + taxes/fees = $95.56. Didn't want to use Priceline because I'm attending a client's conference there and wanted to be pretty certain that I would get the Sheraton Society Hill. (Used BB link.) Best prepaid rate at Sheraton.com and at Travelocity was $169 + tax. Best non-prepaid rate was $199. Client's corporate rate is $135. Amenities: Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. 12. Had seen the Intercontinental on Hotwire for $119 (Thanks to Better Bidding's list, I was able to determine this!). BTW - It looks like Hotwire may have promoted the Hilton Post Oak to 4.5*s again. Started bidding at $51 and used free rebids as follows: $61, $71, $76, $81, $86, $91, $96 (won). Price for Intercontinental room that night on Travelocity"]Travelocity: $239 + tax/fees = $280. Used SavingsBarn link. Thanks again Better Bidding! Subtotal: $96.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $24.25 Total Charges*: $120.25
  13. Sorry! The mind is the second thing to go. The stay is tomorrow: 11/5/06. I can't figure out how to edit titles. Used the SavingsBarn link.... Thanks!
  14. With lots of free re-bids in Charlotte at the 4* level, I bid/re-bid the following: $41, $46, $51, $56, $59, $61, $64 (won) Details: Your Offer Price: $64.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $64.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $17.58 Total Charges*: $81.58
  15. Three rooms @ $61 = $183 + fees/tax = $213.93 Had been keeping an eye on Fort Lauderdale hotels for a couple of weeks and noticed that Hotwire is now offering Renaissance for $99 + fees/taxes. (Thanks BB for the great hotel list that enabled me to determine that this is the Renaissance!) Started bidding at $56. Used a free rebid and won at $61. Per room c :) omparisons: $99 on Hotwire and $259 on Travelocity"]Travelocity.
  16. $24 per day + tax/fees = $221 for 7 days. Started bidding several days ago and started at $18 for Minivan. Changed rental dates and rebid at $22 on that bidding day. Started bidding today at $23 and rebid by changing rental dates at $24. Accepted at $24. Hotwire was offering a minivan for $252 (all in). Travelocity"]Travelocity was offering a minivan for $431 (ouch!) Did all my bidding through SavingsBarn, of course. Thanks, BetterBidding!!!!
  17. Travelocity"]Travelocity was showing $199 + tax. Client company had reserved this room for $179 + tax at their corporate rate. Hotwire rate: $90 + 16.15 = $106.15 (Sorry - Date for this stay is 8/10-11/06 [one night]) This Hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby NOTE: On the BB Hotwire hotel list, I think that it shows the Radisson has having been upgraded from 3*s to 3.5*s. Based on reviewing the postings, I'm wondering if it should be the Sheraton showing the upgrade and possibly NOT the Radisson. I love BetterBidding! I'll be making another donation and I'll be billing it to my client!
  18. Hi GMMike: I don't think I understand the question. Since I don't, I'll just describe what I did. First, there was only one Philly area with a 4* hotel that night (downtown). I started with downtown and 4*s at $41 and added one zone with each bid and added $5 with each bid. Once I got to the last available area, I exited Priceline, re-entered via SavingsBarn (again) and picked Downtown and that last remaining area and 4*s. I then continued adding the newly-available areas and adding $5 with each bid. I quit at $96. Please let me know if I'm not answering what you want to know. Thanks again to all of y'all who make this site so great!!!
  19. Given that there are a multitude of free re-bids in Philly at 4*s and that folks have been able to get the Hyatt at great prices, I started at $41. I added $5 per re-bid and exited and re-entered. At $96, I gave up. I'll try again in a day. Otherwise, I may stay in another town and drive into Philadelphia for meetings that day. BTW ... I think that I just found the "emotional" maximum that I'm willing to bid on Priceline. I can't bring myself to bid $100 on a Priceline hotel, even though the price may be better than other options. I'm just an emotional guy! Used SavingsBarn.com link.
  20. Your Offer Price: $51.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $51.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.26 Total Charges: $65.26 Bid for 2.5*s and started at $36. Added $5 per re-bid. Was OK with Airport, Cary and RTP. Had a free re-bid with Raleigh South. Used SavingsBarn link.
  21. Started bidding at $11 and increased by $2 per rebid by changing car types until getting accepted at $15. Your Offer Price: $15.00 Total Rental Days: 3 Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.43 Total Charges: $61.43
  22. Bought night before rental. Your Offer Price: $22.00 Total Rental Days: 1 Subtotal: $22.00 Taxes & Fees: $8.99 Total Charges: $30.99
  23. Bought the night before arrival. Very difficult to find a room at a semi-decent rate. I'm a "3* man" and bid up to $95 for a three star with no success using rebids. Hotwire was offering a "3*" for $95, but it was pretty clear that it was the Holiday Inn that Priceline had rated a 2.5*. I started bidding process over at 2.5*s and got the room on the second rebid for $71. Expensive for my taste, but still nearly $25 cheaper than Hotwire for what I'm pretty sure is the same hotel. Travelocity"]Travelocity had this Holiday Inn at $177! Your Offer Price: $71.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $71.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.78 Total Charges: $87.78
  24. Same day purchase for this. I like this Radisson! Your Offer Price: $43.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $43.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.67 Total Charges: $56.67
