  1. Hi, Just thought I'd post a quick update. We couldn't get a car at $21. By that stage, we were keen on finalising the plans. So ended up booking a car with www.traveljigsaw.com.au for $168AUD for 3 days. Including petrol, additional driver, taxes and insurance. In total it worked to be $44USD per day all inclusive. Because of the company's 48 hour cancellation policy we ran out of time to bid on PRICELINE the last 2 days. Thank you for your help and we used the betterbidding link to bid - as always :)
  2. I think I'll be ok with bidding up to $25. There are some discount codes on the net but I'm worried that I'll have to show some ID. Any thoughts?
  3. Hi, Can you please help me book a rental car from LAX for the 08/03/2009 to 08/06/2009? I have bid up to $19 for a compact car using the PRICELINE link from the website with no success. The lowest price on Hotwire is $60.20. I can book something from other websites for around $40 per day..... Do I have no chance with PRICELINE?? What to do??
  4. Hi, Bid $101 for a 4* hotel in Beverly Hills-West Hollywood area and won the Hyatt Century Plaza for stay 3 Aug 09 - 6 Aug09. Had hoped for the Andaz West Hollywood but this will do :)

  6. Thank you so much for your prompt response. I don't think either of these are suitable as we need to be close to relatives near Lynn Canyon. I think we'll have to just book something straight out near there. Thought hotwire or priceline were worth a go but it might be too chancy..... Thank you!!
  7. Hi, Based on a hotwire search from 07/03/2007 to 07/09/2007 for North Vancouver I get these 2 options:- 2* - Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities $89 3* - Boutique Hotel, Oceanfront, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access $109 I was wondering if someone could please help identify which hotels these were? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Ozgirl :)
  8. Hi Shodzic, I would do as thereuare suggested and start a brand new thread and ask for advice. They are the experts and I merely use priceline based on the advice I see posted or I receive. But for London I've found that $70-$75 is probably the mark for a 4*. Although some lucky bidders have won something for $65-$70 mark too. I prefer the Bloomsbury and the Mayfair areas in London but the Kensington area is nice too. I've stayed in both and also in the City/Tower area. I managed to get the Hilton Islington last year for my parents and they liked that area too. But I think City and Islington are probably a little out of the way for my liking. But $70-$75 for a hotel in London is a bargain in any case. You can't go wrong!! Happy bidding! Ozgirl. PS I've used priceline for hotels in LA, New York, London and Paris. And recently for Honolulu. I've always been happy with the results.
  9. Forgot to mention earlier but we used the savingsbarn.com PRICELINE links Cheers, Ozgirl
  10. Forgot to mention earlier but I used the PRICELINE links at savingsbarn.com. Cheers, Ozgirl
  11. Hi, After much back and forward, I've changed my travel dates. My friends are traveling on the same dates and have booked the Ocean Resort for under $100USD (includes tax). As I now had a more flexible budget and preference for a 4*, I increased my bids and ended up with the 4* Hawaii Prince for $145 for the dates 9-13 Sept. I think this is in the Marina area. A bit higher than I wanted to pay but I'm pleased with the result. Thanks, Ozgirl
  12. Hi, Helped a friend bid for a hotel in London for 20-27 Apr. Sucessful with the 4* Hilton Olympia in the Kensington area for $75. I've stayed here before and I think that's a good price. Cheers, Ozgirl
  13. Hi, Thought I'd give an update.... I've been following thereuare's strategy but haven't had success yet. Lonestar, Thank you for your suggestion....but can I ask what is the entertainment rate? I'm assuming that you can purchase an Entertainment Card and use it for discount at various venues eg retaurants, movies, attractions over a calender or fin yr? Can I get one even though I live in Australia? Are there more benefits that I can take advantage of? I'm planning to travel to Canada too... Is there a website that I use to get more information? Thanks, Ozgirl
  14. Hi, Thank you for your bidding strategy. I tried it but had no luck. But that's ok. I have a lot of time and patience. I will keep trying. Thank you :) PS I used the link at SavingsBarn.com to begin my bids
  15. Well...I'm not sure I understood that question :) but I think this might clarify:- Perf 1 - Waikiki Beach Area & Waikiki City Central upto $90 If unsuccessful then I'm wlling to try Perf 2 - Waikiki Marina Area upto $90 Hope that helps .... :) Ozgirl
  16. Hi, I did wonder about that....I saw the area names on priceline and tried to match to the priceline hotel list pinned on the msg board. So in order of preference here are the areas I think will are what I want. Waikiki Beach Area Waikiki City Central Waikiki Marina Area Thanks, Ozgirl
  17. Hi thereuare, Yes, I'd like to try for a 4* upto my limit before trying for a resort and/or 3*. I noticed on the hotel list that Waikiki South seems to get the "nicer" 3* hotels so I guess that would be preferable. Thank you for your help. Cheers, Ozgirl
  18. Hi, I was hoping for some help bidding for a hotel or resort in Honolulu please.... The areas I'd like to stay in are:- Honolulu (Waikiki East) Honolulu (Waikiki North) Honolulu (Waikiki South) Star Rating:- 4*, 3* or resort My budget is upto $90. I know the chances of getting a 4* are really low but thought I'd give a try....:) Thank you.
  19. Hi, Thereuare, I'd like to stay either in the Waikiki North or Waikik South zones but Ihilani is also on the list. And I'd say around $125 to $140 per room is reasonable. AEmgee - I followed your links and it sounds like the Reef seems to get the thumbs down overall. Hopefully youll enjoy your stay at the Hawaii Prince. But it does sound pricey... Having said all this, I've now been told that the flights I was looking at yesterday have closed. I really don't understand how that works... Oh well...I'll just tell myself "there's no place like home" :) Thanks.
  20. Hi, I'm trying to plan a holiday for my family over Christmas. Am I completely off the radar if I try to get something via priceline for the 21st to 28th Dec? Where else can I book hotels at a reasonable rate? Please help.... Thanks.
  21. Hi, I got the Hilton London Olympia in London in the Kensington zone for $68 for the 04-06 June. I bid in the City/Financial District zone at $60 and got a offer to increase this amount by $17. I added Kensington and bid $68. Got this hotel. Thanks, Ozgirl
  22. Hi, Sorry I forgot to say...yes this is a 4*. Hilton Islington had some good reviews on tripadvisor. I looked up the area and it looks really nice. I hope my parents enjoy their 2 days there! Still have to book 2 nights 4-6 June in London. I'll post results when/if I'm successful. Cheers, Ozgirl
  23. Hi, I got the Hilton Islington in London in the City-Financial District zone for $70 (first bid) for the 19-21 May. Thanks, Ozgirl
  24. Hi thereuare, Thanks! Yes it is in the The City-Financial District zone. I will post my bids for the second part of my stay in time. Thanks, Ozgirl
