  1. Novotel is Docklands Zone too. And I love the Docklands, but the Novotel (I've stayed there once) is too far away for my taste. You need to take the Docklands Railway and then change at Canary Wharf, to get to the centre. It takes 45 minutes usually, whereas you only need 15-20 minutes when you stay at the Hilton, which is a great hotel anyway. From my experience, you can use the Docklands zone but you need to make sure that you don't bid too low. The Novotel is usually much cheaper than the Hilton Canary Wharf. I wouldn't recommend Hilton Docklands, simply because it's one of the worst Hiltons in London imo.
  2. Room Cost $108.00 /per room night Very happy with the result, this is actually my favourite Hilton property in London and I've already been to quite a few in this city.
  3. Room Cost $161.00 /per room night Rooms 1 Nights 3 Taxes and Fees $112.23 Total Charges $595.23 Used your PRICELINE link.
  4. Decided to buy directly via hilton.com. Had a good offer for the Canary Wharf (90 Pound per night).
  5. Tried to search for NY Hotels for 24 - 27 March 2014. Ended up with three interesting options. Any idea what it could be? 3,5* Times Square - Theatre District area 75% recommended Price: $150 per night Amenities: Smoke free rooms, Fitness Center, Business Center, Internet Access, Accessible path of entry, in-room accessibility and 4* Midtown East area 90% recommended Price: $166 per night Amenities: Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Restaurants, Business Center, Internet Access, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services and 3,5* Madison Square Garden - Hell's Kitchen area 95% recommended Price: $131 Amenities: Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet Friendly, Fitness Center, Business Center, Self Service Laundry Any chance that one of those Hotels belongs to the Hilton Group? Prefer Hilton Groups since I sometimes get free breakfast and internet as an Hhonors Gold member.

  7. No 1 (Docklands) and No 3 (Westminster) have exactly the same amenities. No. 2 (City of London) isn't listed anymore.
  8. Thanks, done it. Here are the results: 1. London Docklands - Canary Wharf - Excel Center area Hotel $105 2. City of London - Towerbridge - St. Pauls Cathedral area hotel $116 3. Westminster - Victoria - Big Ben area hotel $133
  9. Date: 12-14 July (weekend) 1. 4-star Hotel in London Docklands - Canary Wharf - Excel Center 82 Euro 85% recommended This Hotel features the following amenities: Free Parking Free Internet Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access 2. City of London - Towerbridge - St. Pauls Cathedral area hotel 91.64 Euro 95% recommended Amenities: Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center 3. Westminster - Victoria - Big Ben area hotel 105.06 Euro 95% recommended Amenities: Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center any ideas? I love the Hilton Canary Wharf and like the Hilton Docklands, but I guess the Docklands Area Hotel is neither one (since it offers free Internet). The alternatives are No. 2 and No.3 - any help in identifying them would be helpful.
  10. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $90.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 4 Room Subtotal: $360.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $91.64 (USD) Total Charged to Card: $451.64 (USD) Booked this in February already for the UEFA Champions League Final, hoping Dortmund would make it (and I was lucky...).
  11. Very surprised I didn't get a hotel in the city center for $80-85. Bit unfortunate for me that I had to add the Airport region, since I'm there to watch a football game at Manchester City stadium. Seems like something important is going on in Manchester on these days, because lots of hotels weren't even available when I checked Expedia.co.uk.
  12. Wanted to watch my favourite football team compete vs Real Madrid in the Champions League and looked for a nice 5 star property. I think I've found one. Reviews look promising. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night US$105.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: US$315.00 Taxes & Fees: US$44.82 Total Charged to Card: US$359.82
  13. Entertainment, vacation, Road Trip. But with a bit of luxury.Hard to explain :D
  14. Hi, I'll be in Houston for 2 days with a rental car. I'm looking for a nice 4 star property, however I've got no idea about the different regions. Which regions can you recommend and why? I prefer a safe and clean environment, maybe good access to the center (not necessary though, as I said we've got a car). Any help is appreciated, I've never been to Houston before. And what are the usual fees of the hotels in terms of parking? Something between $10-$20?)
  15. I actually had a look at the dates for the Olympics, but I've totally forgotten about the Paralympics. Looks like I've been really lucky this time!
  16. London Marriott Hotel Regents Park Bonus Cash: US$7.00 Offer Price: US$95.00 Room Subtotal: US$190.00 Never been there yet, looks rather old but good. There's a swimming pool. :D
  17. To be honest, I'm sort of happy I did get a hotel at all :D. I was already worrying, since I've booked the flights and paid for Musical and Theatre. Zone 2 isn't a problem, as you can see in my original request, I would have preferred the Docklands and they aren't exactly in the centre too. London has an excellent tube system, so that isn't a problem in my opinion. Thanks for your advice, I will definitely keep that in mind! You think I should give the hotel a call and ask for a bouquet or something, since the person that travels with me celebrates her birthday on the 15th and this trip a birthday present? Never did something like that, don't know if the hotels do something like that.
  18. I've just bid up to 150 Dollar on all zones except Twickenham and still no result. And theeeeen at 155 Dollar, I was finally successful. Can't say I'm very pleased about the result, at least I saved about 100 Dollar compared to the Expedia rate but I'm still a bit disappointed, I usually got better results via PRICELINE. Millennium & Copthorne Hotels At Chelsea Football Club - Zone: Chelsea Knightsbride Room per night: US$155.00 Room Subtotal: US$310.00 Taxes & Fees: US$72.34 Total Charged to Card: US$382.34
  19. Basically no interest in HOTWIRE. The thing is, I've included Chelsea and Earl's Court too by now and increased my bid to 135 Dollar. The only region I've excluded is Twickenham since it is too far away. And still no result. It's becoming ridiculous, I always got 4 star hotels on priceline for 90 - 120 Dollar. Unfortunately, PRICELINE didn't send their weekly 5 Dollar Bonus cash emails. Instead, I received a bonus on rental cars *sigh*.
  20. The HOTWIRE hotel is the Novotel, pretty sure about that. The Hilton Canary Wharf has a higher Tripadvisor rating. But I've given up on the Hilton. I've bid $130 now and included all regions except Earl's Court, Twickenham and Chelsea. Still no result. Wow. I could really need some bonus cash now.
  21. I know that ;). I'm just trying to increase the probability. However, I'm already up to 110 Dollar and in fact I've added almost every region (except Kensington Earl's Court and Twickenham) for a 4**** star hotel and still no result. Does this already have something to do with the olympics? Seems to weird to me especially since I've never had lots of problems to get a decent 4 star property in areas such as Notting Hill (Hilton Kensington) or Regents Park for 90-110 Dollar. I guess I wait until Wednesday's PRICELINE 5 Dollar Bonus cash email.
  22. do you have any tips on how to manage to get the Hilton Canary Wharf? I really love this hotel and as far as I know, it was rather easy to get this hotel in the last years (since there aren't many 4**** hotels in the region) but I've seen in the Priceline Hotel list that there is another Hilton 4**** now (Hilton Docklands). Does anyone know how likely it is to get the Hilton Canary Wharf for 15-17 May? Should I start with 90+ Dollar since the last successful Hilton Docklands bids were about 80-85 Dollar?
  23. So far, I've always stayed in more central regions (Earl's Court, Hyde Park, Westminster ect) but this time, I prefered a property which is more outside. I remembered the Docklands as a very nice region with many caf
  24. So, here it is: 4* Hilton Canary Wharf 01/06/12 - 01/08/12 $90 per night (+$5 Bonus Cash per night) I had tried to get the 5* Marriott West India Quay at first but I wasn't successful with my $120 bid (had started at $100) for that one so I checked some reviews which said the Hilton Canary Wharf is one of the better Hilton properties in London and my first bid was successful.
