No, $76 was my first bid. On the calendar of wins, I noticed that others has booked at this rate that same week. So $76 was my first bid. My alternate reservation was at The Mirage for $79 (plus tax and resort fee) which makes The Wynn a steal.

Need a little help... In looking at the "Priceline Calendar of Wins ", I see: Rosen Shingle Creek, win @ $42 just before Xmas. In looking at the Priceline Orlando list, I don't see the Rosen Shingle Creek, only the Rosen Centre and Rosen Plaza. Can anyone help with this? Also, what star rating and amenities does the Shingle Creek have? Thank you

Booked this stay through Hotwire for a four night stay April 2-5, 2006. Hotwire rates this a 3* property. I would agree with that assessment. While the hotel is somewhat rundown in an overall physical sense, the rooms are nicely appointed with granite counter tops, microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. A couple of things prospective bidders should be aware of: the pool is small ( kind of a motel style) and only about 20% of the rooms have balconies (in looking at the Sea Turtle's website, we had the impression that all rooms had them). We asked about an upgrade to ocean view balcony and were told that it would be $50 more per night. There is no hot tub. The beach is nice- - firm and wide- - great for walking or even riding a bike. The workout room has new treadmills, etc. Another plus is the walking-distance proximity of 6-8 excellent restaurants (bbq, Italian, seafood, gourmet). If you are a golfer, the Jacksonville Beach municipal course is a 10 minute drive and has a green fee under $40 with cart. There is a waterpark also 10 minutes away in Jacksonville Beach. Please note, there is a $10 daily parking fee if you have a car.

Took the Golden Nugget off the Easy Click link for $101. Downtown Vegas has changed since my days as a craps dealer back in the early eighties. The downtown casinos and area in general is much nicer than ever. We really enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk to other casinos and restaurants, and the relative lack of crowds, relative to the strip.

I checked under packages and Hotwire is offering the Omni Championsgate, which has all these amenities plus a couple more. Do they sometimes enhance the amenities in the packages area?

I need help to identify the following: Disney- Champions Gate area 4* amenities listed as: resort, restaurant, fitness center, spa, h.s. internet, golf, business center It looks a little like Gaylord Palms but has no childrens program or pool listed as an amenity. Hotwire is showing at $125 for December 28, one night. Thanks

I am looking at the week of 12/25 --12/31. Hotwire has a 4* in Miami Lakes offered at $84. It appears to be a match amenity-wise for Don Shula's Hotel (restaurant, pool, fitness center, spa, golf, tennis, business center). Under Hotwire "packages" it offers Don Shula's as a 4* choice with these same amenities. The $84 looks like a good deal as other sources have it priced from $105 to $159 for the same dates. Any opinions out there as to whether this is indeed Don Shula's?

Spent 3/31 and 4/1/2005 at this property. The room was okay but the rest of the "resort" is tired. Hotwire is stretching it to call this 4*. I give it a 4 on a 10 point scale. There is a very long walk from the self parking lot to the front desk then another long walk if your room is on Pleasure Island. Food and drink VERY OVERPRICED.

Wyndham Palace, Orlando March 31 and April 1 amenities listed: hotel, restaurant, pool, workout room, spa, golf nearby, tennis, business center paid: $105 per night plus 30.95 in taxes and fees plus $22 resort fee and tax. Total for two nights: $262.95 Hotwire gives this hotel 4*, I give it 4 on a scale of 10. Long walk to the front desk from self parking lot, then another long walk to our room on "Pleasure Island". Food and drinks VERY overpriced compared to Marriott and other true 4* properties. Room was okay but everything else was substandard. We left there and checked into the Marriott World Center, a bargain AAA rate of $149, no resort fee. The Wyndham makes me reluctant to use Hotwire again. I booked it before I was familiar with this site. So, next time hopefully, I won't make this mistake again. Keep up the great work. ace

Hotwire has a 4* Fremont area (Golden Nugget?) that looks like my best committed option @ $101 per. I will probably bid 4* on Priceline to see if I can get it cheaper. Other than that, Orbitz has the LV Hilton @ $115.

I am going to Vegas for the weekend Friday, May 20 and need a room for two nights. In reading many of the posts for wins at the Venetian, I noticed most of the accepted bids were for Sunday through mid-week. I bid and rebid 5* for these two nights starting at $99 up to $124 without acceptance. Any strategic suggestions or guidance welcome. If I can't get the Venetian, the Westin Casuarina would be acceptable. However, my understanding is that on PL it is 3* which is a category shared by some hotels I don't want. Any way to distinguish what I am bidding on when using PL? Thanks, :) First Time Poster.
