  1. I followed the steps previously shared on the forum. 1. Bid $55 rejected 2. Added Six Flags $58 rejected 3. Added Forest Park $60 rejected 4. Added Jonesboro $63 rejected. 5. Added Atlanta (Airport ATL South) $64 win. The Priceline no bidding price would have been $109 per night, so I am thrilled with my savings! My total for the two-night stay was $128.00 plus Taxes & Fees of $28.92 for a total price of $157.92 I went through betterbidding's PRICELINE link.
  2. I had been bidding on Priceline without any luck, so I tried Last Minute Travel. I was able to see all of the actual room rates by choosing the hotel/rental car option. The Ramada Plaza got pretty good reviews and was in my price range, so I chose it. The normal rate for this hotel before fees and taxes is $130, but my final price after fees and taxes was $97.89, so I am pleased.
  3. First bid tonight of $50 accepted. I had tried $45 - $49 on previous attempts this week with no luck. This is the hotel I was hoping for. So I'm happy :) Here are my total charges: Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $100.00 Taxes & Fees: $22.72 Total Charges*: $122.72 I used the PRICELINE link!
  4. I placed my bid on 12-13-10, and it was accepted on my second attempt. I was only interested in the airport region, so that was what I checked. I'm really surprised that your $75 bid was rejected. Are you trying to get a hotel for the weekend? Maybe that was the difference. My stay is for a Tuesday.
  5. Hello: I did not go through the website this time :), but I still wanted to let you all know what I got my room for. My first bid was for $50. I only had the Ft. Lauderdale Airport (FLL) checked and 3-star. That price was declined, but they offered me a rebid if I increased my bid by $15. Instead I rebid, increased my bid to $55, and also checked the Ft. Lauderdale Airport-North (which does not have any 3-star or above properties). My bid for $55 was accepted. The total with taxes and fees came out to $68.97. The rooms are listed at Priceline for $142.00, and the hotel gets a 9.4 out of 10 rating, so I felt I got a good deal! I will be sure to use the betterbidding.com website in the future. I just was so caught up with planning this trip that I forgot to use the PRICELINE link this time.
  6. I just wanted to again thank everyone at betterbidding for providing this wonderful website. I saved at least $700 in hotel bookings over my past 10-day roadtrip by using the resources, tips and tricks that I learned from you all. To show you my appreciation, in addition to using your links to book all of my rooms, I just sent you a $25 donation. It's not much, but, hey, it's better than a sharp stick in the eye, right :) Anyway, I will be back again and again in the future. So, until next time...
  7. Thanks for letting me know! Trust me, I'm getting more saavy as far as bidding. All in all, I've had great experiences. So I'm happy with the system. And I'm so grateful for the betterbidding website.
  8. ***UPDATE*** I stayed here two nights ago and just wanted to let you all know that this hotel was FANTASTIC!! This is in my top four as far as nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. The whole ambiance of the inside of the hotel spells class. The rooms were VERY stylish, and the bed was so comfortable that I slept like a baby. The public areas were also very classy and had an "exciting" vibe about them. I am so pleased with my stay here, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to be in the area. The only con was that the internet was not free.
  9. ***UPDATE*** I stayed here last night, and I just wanted to let you all know that this is a BEAUTIFUL hotel! The rooms are large and decorated very nicely. The common areas have a lot of character and are very tastefully done. The exercise room is one of the biggest I've ever seen at a hotel. The pool is a really nice size as well. And, most importantly, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms have pretty thick walls which keeps things nice and quiet. The hotel is in a really nice neighborhood too. Can you tell I really liked it??? The only downside was that the internet is not free. Anyway, I give this hotel a big thumbs up :)
  10. ***UPDATE*** Well, my stay has come and gone. Here are my thoughts: The front desk gal and breakfast gal were both fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is your standard "Country Inn," except this one is getting a wee bit run down. Not terrible, but it needs some touching up (walls are looking a little dinged up. Carpet is a bit dusty). The one uncool thing was in my room with double beds, the one bed definitely looked like housekeeping just made it up without changing the sheets. Can you say strange hair in the bed!!! The other bed looked clean and unslept in, so I used that one and did not complain to management.
  11. ***UPDATE*** I stayed here and wanted to give a quick review. The front desk person was fantastic. Very friendly and personable. The hotel isn't brand new, but it's not bad at all. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area. I felt that I definitely got more than my money's worth.
  12. **Update** Well, I stayed at the hotel, and I thought it was great! The rooms felt really new, REALLY clean, and it was modern and lovely. I would definitely stay here again. This was a great deal and a good experience. One bad thing, though, is that the walls were kind of thin. So if you are a light sleeper, you will need earplugs because you can hear some noise from the surroundings.
  13. I used the PRICELINE link. My first bid of $45 was accepted. But I do believe that this hotel charges a $10 fee for parking. Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Fees: $13.34 Total Charges*: $58.34
  14. I used the PRICELINE link. I first bid $50, which was rejected. I was offered to increase my price by $15, which I did not want to do. I closed the browser. I then bid $58 and added Frontier City (which does not have 3.5 star hotels). My bid was rejected. I closed the browser. I then bid $60 and added Edmond (which does not have 3.5 star hotels). My $60 bid was accepted. Price $60.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.07 Total Charges*: $76.07
  15. I used the PRICELINE link on this site. My first bid of $48 for a two-night stay was rejected. PRICELINE counteroffered me a price of $63, which I accepted. Subtotal: $126.00 Taxes & Fees: $26.18 Total Charges*: $152.18 I am in my hotel room right now, and I am VERY pleased. I think this Hilton hotel is fantastic, and the room is furnished very nicely. I feel that I got a really great deal!! I would totally stay here again, no problem.
  16. I used the PRICELINE link on this site, and my bid of $50 was accepted on the first try.
  17. On October 25, 2010, I used the PRICELINE link on this site and bid $44 for a 3 star in Morgantown, West Virginia. I totally DID NOT want the 3.5 star resort option because the resort in this area got HORRIBLE reviews on the tripadvisor website. Well, wouldn't you know it -- Priceline "upgraded" me, and I won the resort with my first bid even though I did not have that option checked. I'm still kind of new to bidding, so I didn't even realize that this could happen. On October 27, 2010, my husband and I spent the night at the resort, and it was just as bad as everyone on tripadvisor said. This place is dreary, dated, and depressing. It really should be downgraded to a 1 star. It was built in about 1955, and looks like it has never been updated EVER. It reminds you of someplace out of a gritty 1970's movie like Serpico. Morning could not come fast enough. I swear I slept with one-eye open the entire night!! One good thing about it is the bed sheets were white and seemed clean. Also, the front desk staff were very friendly and professional. Anyway, I'm not whining or complaining. My husband and I actually got a lot of laughs out of the entire situation.
  18. Once again I used your PRICELINE link. This time I bid $40 for a 3-star hotel in St. George, UT. My bid was declined, but they offered me a re-bid at $55. I didn't want to pay that much. So I waited 24 hours and bid $48 and won! This Hilton property is listed for $109 on priceline and has good reviews. I'll post my opinion of my stay once I return from my road trip. Have I mentioned that I love the betterbidding website :)
  19. I used the PRICELINE link on this forum's website and bid $38 for the St. Charles/ St. Peters area. That bid was rejected, but I was immediately offered the re-bid price of $48. I did not feel like waiting 24 hours to bid again, and I really wanted to stay in the Saint Charles, MO, area, so I went ahead and bid $48. This Country Inn and Suites is listed for $99 on the PRICELINE website, and it has really good reviews, so I'm happy. I'll check back after my trip and tell you all how my stay went.
  20. I just got the Capitol Plaza Hotel for one night for a really good price. And of course we used the HOTWIRE link off of this forum. Man, we may not use our camping gear very much on this road trip if we keep scoring these low-priced rooms! I will be sure to come back once our trip is over and tell everyone what we thought of the hotels. By the way, hotwire listed this hotel with the below stated amenities: Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry Facilities Hotel rate per night: $38.00, Taxes 11.10, Total price $49.00.
  21. Hello, I just wanted to let everyone know that I just used the BB PRICELINE link and won the Hilton Garden Inn for $36. My husband and I are going on a road trip, so we were pretty open about where we could stay while passing through Denver. My bid was accepted on the third try. It went like this: $35 for a three and a half star hotel with Stapleton area checked. Denied $35 for a three and a half star or three star hotel checked with Stapleton and Tech Center South area checked. Denied $36 for a three and a half star or three star hotel checked with Stapleton, Tech Center South, and Denver West area checked. Accepted. Subtotal: $36.00 Taxes and Fees: $11.99 Total Charges*: $47.99 PRICELINE has this hotel listed at $109, and it's received really good reviews by past visitors, so I am thrilled! I am really grateful for this website. This is a phenomenal resource :-) I will ALWAYS use your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links whenever I travel, and I will be sure to post my results to help others.
