  1. Here it is. For transportation, my friend also suggested New Century Travel New York bus. It costs $35.
  2. I tried the following; all rejected. 3* 4/5-4/8 $79 4/5-4/7 $80 4/5-4/6 $81 4/6-4/8 $82 4/7-4/8 $80 2 1/2* & 3* 4/5-4/8 $72 4/5-4/7 $73 4/5-4/6 $74 4/6-4/8 $75 Even though bidding @ PL is exciting, I'm feeling tired and ready to punish myself with Holland Motor Lodge. If there is a better deal than $67/day for 3-night stay and not too far from PATH, I'd gladly take it. Mac
  3. After a quick check at HotWire, the other dates (4/5-4/8) are still expensive ($97-$307), I think I will settle with $67 Holland Motor Lodge. For Hyatt, below is the total cost, I got $10 off/night from HOTWIRE new member coupon.
  4. 1 room(s) @ $65.00 per night x 1 night(s) $65.00 Hotel Taxes and fees: $14.95 Hotel Subtotal $79.95 Used the Savingsbarn.com. I will spend the rest of my stay at my friend's apartment and then will go to NYC for 5 nights (4/3-4/8) as I posted in the Jersey City section. I am wondering what is the best way to go from DC to Hyatt Regency on Hudson? Amtrak or Greyhound or others? Amtrak seems to be double the price of Greyhound but the station locations are better. Mac
  5. After I failed the bid from above, I changed the date and got 2 nights from Hotwire @80 from 4/3/2005-4/5/2005. Still trying to hunt for the other 3 nights (4/5/2005-4/8/2005). Of course, I used the link from Savingsbarn.com Mac
  6. The code still works as of 3/26/2005. For me, when I used an existing account, the discount coupon section in the payment page didn't show up. I had my girlfriend make a second purchase and it worked. $10 discount/night is sweet. Mac
  7. It's $80-$81 for 4/10-4/12 from Hotwire. The 4/13-4/14 must be full. I will bid again this Sunday and if it is rejected, I will go for Hotwire (using SavingsBarn.com link of course). Since I am not familiar with the Jersey City area, is there any hotel better than the $67 Holland Motor Lodge for 4/13-4/14? My only requirement is a close proximity to PATH train. Mac
  8. Thank you Thereuare and dahammer for your suggestions. I had my gf bid 4/10-4/12 at $61 for 4/10-4/12 (2 nights) but it also failed. For my next attempt on Sunday, should I bid higher than $61 or should I try $55 as you suggested? I would not mind any hotel that is near the PATH station since my destination is NYC but if I got the Hyatt, my gf would be impressed. :) For my curiosity, is there any formula for a PL initial bid if we know the hotwire's rate? For example, hotwire offers $80, how do I know that $55 is a good bid amount? TIA, Mac
  9. I'd like to share information on my failed PL bid to Hyatt. I bidded for 3* @ $61 and PL said it offerred another immediate bid attempt if I raised the bid for another $16 ($77 total) but I didn't. I will try to re-bid again in the next 72 hours. My previous falied bids were $50 and $55. After I followed the webboard, it looks like $35-$50 range is no longer possible with Hyatt at the moment. Should I just forget this hotel and look for 2* or 2 1/2*? My travel dates are coming up. Thanks, Mac P.S. I saw the Holland Motor Lodge from Expedia.com and it offers $67/night and is said to be very close to PATH. Is it worth?
