  5. The 4* hotel rooms in downtown Austin must be booked this weeked! This was my progression of changes. All were rejected until I got to $185. I started at $69 for a 4* in Downtown Austin. Added Lakeway at $185 and won a room at the 4* Intercontinental Stephen F. Austin in Downtown Austin. Total charges were $438.16 ($370 for two days plus $68.16 taxes). I don't think I've ever paid more than $100 for a room at a 4* Downtown Austin hotel. Is there something going on this weekend?

  8. Bid $100 for 3/23-25/07. Offer accepted by Hilton in downtown Austin.
  9. I reviewed betterbidding for the range of prices to bid. I started to bid on one account at $65 for a 4* downtown Austin. Rejected. I added 3* and increased the price to $70. Rejected. I started to bid on a second account at $90 for 4* in downtown Austin. I bid $90 based on the last couple of posts that won at $89 and $95. Won Hyatt downtown. I have friends who secured a room at the Hyatt earlier today. They are paying regular price at $200+ per night. They are going to be really miffed! Ha ha! :)
  10. I was looking for a 4* downtown Austin hotel and started bidding yesterday at $60 and worked my way up to $95. This morning I tried again, starting out at $100 for a 4* downtown. I added zones increasing my bid up to $115 afer a couple of rejections where I was finally accepted by the Hilton for $115/night. Hilton.com and Hotels.com had Hilton rooms at $229, so $115 was right at half price. :) I don't know why Austin hotels are so expensive right now on Priceline. The last time I was there last fall, my $65 bid was accepted by the Omni. :)
  11. 1 room(s) @ $74.00 per night x 6 night(s): Total $444.00 Taxes and fees: $86.61 Total Price: $530.61 Listed Amenities: Restaurant, High Speed Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center I tried 4* on Priceline at $60 to see if there was anything better and was rejected. Didn't feel like waiting another 72 hours to try again.
  12. First bid at $60 rejected. Added a free zone and upped to $65 and accepted. Omni downtown Austin. :)
  13. Selected amenities include: Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service). Baymont Inn & Suites - Houston Southwest 6790 Southwest Freeway Houston, Texas 77074 (713) 784-3838 $39 per night for July 9-11, 2005. Total charges were $96.95 after taxes. Front desk clerk during check in was not very bright. When I asked if the hotel had high speed internet, she told me no and said that the hotel had dial up. Knowing that all Baymonts have high speed internet, I figured out that the hotel had wireless. They also were out of non-smoking rooms, so I ended up in a smoking room. Facilities are true to the 2* rating.
