  1. The rates were too high so we canceled. Thanks for the help!
  2. Sorry! I was having trouble figuring it out. You're correct .. it's for 8/8 - 8/10. My apologies!
  3. I got the Westin through Priceline.Express! I used the link you provided. Thanks!! Also, my post from 2010 -- I ended up not booking anything - too $$. Not sure how to close it?
  4. If it helps, the Hyatt is listed at $152 on Price.line and Hot.wire. So, I'm guessing this must be the Hyatt right? Updated: I definitely think it's the Hyatt because the Westin doesn't have a spa. However, I now see a 4* on Priceline Express for $162 that has the following amenities: Pets Allowed Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center This matches what Price.line lists for The Westin (and no other 4* hotels in downtown Cleveland). Could it be? Also, The Hyatt is listed at $152 a night already on Priceline, so it wouldn't make sense that they would do a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal MORE expensive than the price that's publicly listed, right? Thanks. I am using all Price.line and HOTWIRE links through this board.
  5. I do NOT want the Hyatt Regency, and would much prefer The Westin (which is currently at a rate of $204 on Priceline and Hotwire). The amenities listed are: Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services At the top, it also says "Book soon! The last person got The Westin Downtown Cleveland" Any ideas if this is Hyatt? The Hyatt does have a spa, and I don't know if the Westin does. Thanks for any help.
  6. Hi, I just won The Empire Hotel for $120 a night (total of 2 nights) for Jan. 6th-Jan. 8th. I used the PRICELINE link you provided. I bid $100 in UWS, and then got a counter-offer of $140 per night. So I added Long Island City, and bid again at $120.
  7. Also, I should add... because I live in the city, I'm not opposed to waiting until 12/31 (day of) to make a reservation. Do you think this will help??
  8. I'm probably in a unique position.. I live in the East Village, so unless I can grab a really great deal -- I won't take it. ;-) I'd ideally love Soho or Tribeca... but would totally be fine going CPS/MTE.. even UWS. Hmm.. am wondering maybe if I should start w/ UWS 4* (The Empire) ?? I'd be totally happy with that. I think we just want a boutique hotel, as opposed to a Hilton/Sheraton/etc.
  9. Hi... I just had great success for my parents bidding on priceline through your forum (12/16-12/19 and got a great deal on Loews Regency). I am now tempted to try to reserve a room for New Years' Eve. I would ideally LOVE a boutique hotel. I am open to all areas... what is the bidding strategy you'd suggest? I don't want to go above $250 for the night. Thanks in advance.
  10. Thanks for the help. I used the PRICELINE link and booked The Loews Regency for $200 a night for 2 rooms. From Dec. 16-Dec. 19th.
  11. Hi, yes.. you are correct. I've actually decided to focus primarily on CPS for my parents.. because I really don't want MTE Hyatt (stayed there; wasn't impressed) and it seems like that one is pretty popular for these dates. So, I am going to use your PRICELINE link and start at $110 for CPS 4-star. We are booking two rooms for these dates, do you think that 'll be a problem? Thanks in advance!
  12. We'd like to stay around 200-250 range. And we'd take CPS, MTE over downtown. Hope this helps! I don't like the location of the Millenium Hilton - and it's way too big plus cramped rooms (at least in my experience). Thanks for all your help! I really appreciate it.
  13. Hi, I am looking for bidding advice in booking a 4-star NYC hotel for Dec. 16-19th. This is for my parents. I live in NYC (East Village) so am pretty familiar with the areas. Ideally, I think they want Central Park South area. They would take MTE though. Definitely want to avoid Times Square. I think they'd be fine downtown if it came to that ... as long as we can avoid places like Millenium Hilton. Any and all help would be appreciated! I've had great luck using this forum before, so thanks in advance. And as always, I click through to PRICELINE & HOTWIRE with the links you provide. :-)
  14. Thanks for all the help!! I tried everything you suggested, and then at the last minute changed my last bid to $310 instead of $300. It got accepted at Omni Berkshire in Midtown East!! I'm super excited. I used your PRICELINE link.
  15. Thank you for your response. Yes, I want to bid for CPS or MTE before any other zones. However, a 4* in other zones would be preferable to a 3 1/2* in those zones. I definitely would not want to get The Hudson. I'd like to avoid Times Square and the financial district, if at all possible. Preferably would want to stay as close to the park as we can. I know Columbus Day weekend is a busy time, so I'm not too hopeful that I'll be able to stay under the $300 range. I'd go up to $340 for a 4* if need be. Thanks so much!
  16. Hi, I am hoping someone with expertise can help guide me with bidding... -I am looking for a 3.5 star / 4 star (preferably 4) in NYC. -2 adults; 4 nights -dates are not flexible -Central Park South and Mid-town East would be ideal. What is a good starting bid? I will pay up to $300 per night, but obviously would rather be in the $200 range. Thanks in advance.
