  1. Thanks Thereuare I will try & try and go higher when I get closer to my traveldates I do have 6 months left & i think i can always find a room in Vegas
  2. Thanks for your reply Thereuare for all my bookings I have seperate threads this was not intended as a thread at this time , just the question if I have to wait till rates go down on Hotwire to have more luck ? For the moment , I am only trying North area hoping for Venetian and would be OK with Palazzo or Wynn
  3. Hello I got almost all my hotels for my group trip , just need 2 times a 2 night stay in Vegas for 8 rooms in a 5*hotel trying to get Venetian , Palazzo or Wynn Used Priceline for most of my bookings through your PRICELINE link and got some great rates I read all the info on your site concerning early booking or not , I would like to ask you 1 advice I am not getting any luck for these 2 bookings , 5/27 till 5/29 an 6/10 till 6/12 , tried rates up to $119 I also checked HOTWIRE to compare what rates they have and I see that they have good rates up till March 2012 , after that date , rates are higher So my question is : should I wait till I see better rates on Hotwire to make my bids or do the 2 sites don't have the same offers from hotels ? It wasn't so for my Monterey booking , Hotwire had nothing on their site at the time of my booking , maybe Vegas is different ?? Thanks anyway for all the advice on your site , it always helps a lot Lesly
  4. 7th reservation for our group trip , 4 to go Another hotel in Moab that is not on the Betterbiding list I saw that someone else got the Best Western , but as most sites said that there where no more rooms available there for my dates , I thaught I would get La Quinta this HIE hotel is classified 13 on 33 by tripadvisor , i find Priceline working with better hotels ( La Quinta is 6th ) I hope our group is not too dissapointed with this one started bidding a few days ago with $90 , as there are no rebid zones , had to wait a day each time to bid again hotel rate is $159 a night used PRICELINE link to bid
  5. 5th booking for our 16 night group trip tried a few weeks for a 3.5 in Fishermans wharf at maximum $99.00 and 4* in embarcadero and both Union square area at maximum $115.00 with no luck untill today seems like a good deal , good location , rate on hotelsite is 255.00 + taxes Used PRICELINE link for bidding
  6. I had to add 1 late decider to our 7 room group No problem , tried same 4* for same amount and had the room instantly ( there are five 4* in Monterey area , took the risk that my friend would wind up in another hotel ) when I put in my bid , I had a message that i would probably have no chance at all to win with my very low bid as average was $295 for a 4* room , so even when you get this message , try anyway !! I used the PRICELINE link to book
  7. I had to add 1 late decider to our 7 room group No problem , tried same 3* for same amount and had the room instantly ( only one 3* in Hollywood area , and Hotwire had the same rate ) I used the PRICELINE link to book
  8. I had to add 1 room to our 6 room reservation tried same amount for same 2.5* hotel , had the Ruby's inn instead of Grand hotel on 1st try they give 3* for Ruby's inn now , last in topics was still 2.5* well , it's just across the road , so not to far away for our late decider I used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link to book
  9. 3rd reservation for our 16 day trip tried several days for 3* or 2.5* in Bryce , starting at $80 and going up $5 after 24h wait I think this is the first Priceline booking for this hotel in Bryce , it's rated N
  10. Thanks Outshined for your very helpfull info I already saw the parking sign on Google streetview , as it said 2$ per hour , I thought it would cost me a leg for a 24h stay ! good to know there is a 10$ flat rate a day I also called the hotel , they seem understanding , when I asked for motorbikes parking rates , they said i had to pay 1 parking space for 4 bikes if they fit in ( other hotels it's 1 bike = 1 parking rate )
  11. 2nd reservation for our 16 night group trip tried 80$ , 85$ and 90$ no luck , had a mail 2 days later that i could try again , tried 90$ and went up to 95$ and won the Portola , rated 8th of 50hotels in Monterey on tripadvisor 289$ rate on hotelsite Best offer on Hotwire was a 3.5* at 145$ a night ?? , didn't have much hope to get this deal now 8 reservations to go , lots of strategies to try out thought it would be hard to book 7 rooms , hotwire is 6 rooms max Used the PRICELINE link for booking
  12. First booking for my 16 night trip with my group of friends Seems like a good deal , 179$ + tax on hotelsite Anyone knows a parking not to expensif in that area ?
  13. Thanks Romelle I know the area , did the trip twice already , and yes , I have a lot of guides and the net gives also lots of information . I live in France , but I go once or twice a year to th US , so I am starting to know how to get a good hotel deal ( Betterbidding helps a lot ) I find google streetview also very helpfull to see the neighbourhood where the hotel is situated , along with tripadvisor ratings . you will see my posts in the months too come ,or my questions as they come along Lesly
  14. Thanks AaronJB for your advice I will surelly post all of my bookings on the site and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for my bookings , as this site is a goldmine for my travels Lesly
  15. Hi Romelle Thanks for you answer I will look these hotels up with tripadvisor , see what they are like As for early booking , I have to book for a 16 night west america trip for 8 rooms so I have a lot of bidding and investigating to do , so if the price on Priceline or Hotwire are really low comparing to rates on regular sites , i book the rooms , if not , i wait Lesly
  16. Hi I am looking for a hotel in the Grand Canyon area 6/9/12 till 6/10/12 When i check priceline , i see a 3* upscale hotel choice in the Betterbidding hotellist , there are only 2.5* hotels Any idea what hotel this 3* is ? did not see any 3* wins with Priceline , only with Hotwire yhanks in advance for your answer
  17. stayed here on my 10 day trip in florida from 1/20 till 1/23 . definitively isn't a 3.5 or 4 star hotel , i would call it a "Quallity Inn" or a "Days Inn" with a nice & big impressif hall
  18. Tried a few days with prices up to 70$ for a 4* or resort , all areas exept downtown , no reponse saw that Hotwire had nothing under 100$ , so went up to 75$ today and got the Westin Imagine ( 235$ a night on PRICELINE ) this will be the second Westin on 10 day our trip to Florida First time I booked my rooms with PRICELINE , contacted all the hotels already booked to ask if they had my prepaid reservations on file , they all confirmed I will check to see if anyone who books closer to my days of travel gets better deals than my early bookngs , so I'll know what is better for my next trip Thanks " betterbidding" for all the very helpfull info on your site booked using PRICELINE link re_posted this topic , my original post had wrong date (2010 instead of 2011 )
  19. Thanks to "ahoyle77"'s topic . Also needed 2 rooms in Orlando for almost the same dates started 42$ , 44$ and accepted at 46$ didn't work for my other dates ; 01/13 - 01/16 was trying 4* or resort with bids up to 63$ , not accepted stayed in the past in Rosen Plaza , wich is a OK hotel in Orlando , so this one seems ok for that rate used the PRICELINE link on this site
  20. Had to try several times , started 60$ & 65$ and when reached 70$ i received a message they would accept 90$ didn't use that button & went back , tried 75$ and got accepted at 80$ + taxes ( each time adding zones that haven't 4* ) started a new bid for my second stay 70$ , 75$ and again accepted at 80$ , same hotel I think it's not a bad deal for a 337$ a night rate on the hotel site & 388 on priceline having already 2 x 1 night Hollywood booked , 1 night Key West Booked , still 1 x 3 nights & 1 x 4 niights Orlando to book thx Betterbidding for the advice and PRICELINE link
