After some research here, I plugged in a bid for $50 first, min. 3.5 star for CCP area only. Got a counter offer for $59, and since I was short on time, I took it. Got the Sheraton right on the edge of the Plaza, was given a very nice 3 room king suite for my wife & I. Very nice property, indoor/outdoor pool, spa, exercise area. Onsite parking = $12 self park, and $15 valet park. There may be cheaper options within a block, I did not take time to look. Many very nice sit-down restaurants a short walk way, and a few quicker places such as Firehouse Subs, and Panera Bread. As a side note, I put the suspended ceiling in Firehouse Subs when it was being built, last December 2010. Bid $50 didn't take, added rebid zone and tried again at $80, got Marriot at Magnificent Mile for $80, bid 6 days in advance Edited to add: $80 Bid Amount $20 Taxes & Fees $100 Total

Bid one room for 1 night, at $45, then $50, for 8/20/11 Got 1 room at $50 + $15 taxes & fees, for a total of $65 Hyatt Regency O Hare 4*

I believe I tried to bid $11 on the compact, and had a counter offer of $15. Which... that's not a bad price, but I can get it cheaper somewhere else :) I can't remember for sure how much I bid on the full size, but it seems like about 12-13

I reserved a car from Hertz right on their website using my AAA card. With my AAA discount, I was able to get a four day rental for a total including taxes & fees for $62.12 ($15.53 a day, for a compact car) I just tried bidding for the same car class on priceline, and I can't get it for that cheap, in fact, the counter offer run the total bill including taxes & fees to about $75 ($18.75 a day). Needless to say, I didn't accept it. I also compared a full size car. Total bill from Hertz, same days, $92, or $23 a day. Priceline's best counter offer, total bill: $104, or $26 a day.
