  1. Thank you guys! Update: In the end we ended up going the traditional route. We booked citizenM New York Times Square hotel for a total of $1142 for 7 nights. Not too bad! They had a special deal on their homepage.
  2. Our dates are January 18-25. The most expensive one has gone up to $184/night - that's too much for the moment, I don't need an ID for this one. There is another hotel as well in the Empire State Building area ( 80% recommended).: The price is $126/night, 4* - FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access (according to the green button). The other hotel is now $151/night - but I can't find it using the BiddingHelper.com, only through HOTWIRE.com. 4* Empire State Building area, $151/night, 85% recommended, Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Accessibility Could you please help me ID these two? They seem pretty similar, only the accessibility/price/recommended that's different. I really want free internet in the hotel, that's why our choices are so limited. Thank you!
  3. Hello. Iwould like some help to ID two different Hotwire-deals for january next year: 1: 4* Empire State Building area, $149/night, 85% recommended, Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Accessibility 2. 4,5* Empire State Building area, $179/night, 95% recommended Free Internet Fitness Center Business Center Self service laundry Thanks in advance!
  4. Thank you everyone for your replies! :) I have won a hotel now - the Marriott London Maida Vale. I had to pay $110/night before taxes, €304,87 in total included taxes and fees for three nights. It seems like a good hotel for our purposes, and I'm really happy. I checked hotels.com for the same dates, their price was about €855 - so it was a bargain even though I had to go a bit over budget. Again, thank you!
  5. Unfortunately I was not able to get a hotel with my budget of $100. I also added North London/Regent's Park and The City, but was unsuccessful. I'm all out of rebids, but I'm thinking of trying again tomorrow. I guess I can't be as cheap as I've been so far. :P It seems it will be more difficult this time. Hopefully I'll be able to make a deal in the end. Thanks so far anyway! :)
  6. My budget/night before tax is $100. My aim is 4*, but I wont be upset id it's a 5*. But for the bidding strategy, just assume I'm going for a 4*, max $100, but as low as you think possible in the areas above. Thank you! :)
  7. Thank you for your replies. I'm thinking after hearing about your bidding, melrew, that 5* in Westminster is a bit over my budget, and that I should try for a 4* in the areas mentioned above. If I am unsuccessful in my three preferred areas I will keep Regent's Park in mind. The most important thing for me is that the hotel is close to the tube, but obviously there are no guarantees. I have always been very happy with deals made through Priceline before, so fingers crossed for this time as well. If anybody has a bidding strategy for 4* (or 5* - but I'm guessing 4* will be cheaper :P ) in London for oct 12-15 in the zones 1)Soho, 2)Bloomsbury or 3)Westminster I would be really thankful! :)
  8. Hello :) I have used priceline before, but I still think I could use some help. My boyfriend and I will be staying in London from October 12th-15th. I have seen winning bids to London Marriott Hotel County Hall for about 14 days before we plan on going. I would like to try for the same (risky, yes). Is there a strategy to get multiple bids in 24 hours for 5 star hotels in Westminster? Are there any zones in London which do not have any 5* hotels for example? I do not want to spend more than $110 so if I am unsuccessful I will widen my search. If Im unable to get a 5* in Westminster (Preferably County Hall) I would like a 4* (Or 5* ofc) in 1)Soho, 2)Bloomsbury or 3)Westminster. My budget would be max $100 /night (before taxes), but as low as possible is obviously preferred (so - I would rather have a cheap 4 star than a more expensive 5 star.) Any advice as to how I should proceed to bid? I will (of course) use the links provided here :) Thank you!
  9. Just booked the Hilton London Metropole from the 15th to the 21th August, through Priceline The winning bid was 102 usd/night. A grand total of 752 usd for 6 nights including taxes. I am SUPER excited!
  10. Im sorry I didnt reply earlier, there has been som changes. New travelling dates: oct 30th - nov 02. Still 2 people I think a 4 star will do :) Our budget maximum is still 170 usd/night. Preffered areas are Mayfair/Soho and Westminister, depending on the price. If Kensington is a lot cheaper, then Kensington is preffered. What is the guesstimated price difference between M/S and Kensington?
  11. Messages are read and replied to, and PRICELINE link clicked :) Thank you for quick response, Romelle! Im almost shocked to see some of the wins, and the deals they've made! :) Maike
  12. My boyfriend and I are going to London in the end of october, 23-27th. A friend of mine recommended priceline, but I've never tried it before. The areas I've looked at so far is : Mayfair/Soho Westminister Kensinngton/Chelsea Are there any other areas you would recommend? We would like to live as central as possible for attractions etc. To be on the safe side, as we dont know what hotel we've booked until it's final, we are looking for hotels that are rated 4 stars or more. Our budget maximum is 170 usd/night. (I guess this excludes 5 star hotels, but 4 star hotels are fine :) Thank you for any replies :) Regards Maike, Norway
