Bethesda is an awesome place to stay if you're going to DC. This hotel is right at the Redline Metro so there is no long hike to a Metro stop. There are lots of great restaurants in Bethesda for any budget and the area is very safe. From here you can get to anyplace in the city. You can also get to BWI airport very easily for under $10 and in less than an 2 hours. If you bid for Bethesda, though do not drop below 2 Stars because you could get the Amercian Inn. Although the people who work there are very nice, the hotel is kind of shabby so you are better off sticking to above 3 stars. I once bid $80 and 2 stars and got the American Inn so be careful.
