  1. Using permutations I started to bid at $45 and increased my bids by $1 until I won the bid at $51. Syracuse is ideal for the permutation method. I still had many free bids to use. I have stayed at this hotel before and am happy with it.
  2. I started bidding at 65, was declined, but was offered a rebid if I went up 81. I declined and waited till the next day and bid 72 and was accepted (this was the day before I left). There aren't many bargains to be had in this area so my bid of $72.00 isn't great but I think it is better than just paying as you arrive (it was listed at 119.00 on it's website). The hotel was okay, not what I consider a 2.5 star. The worst thing about the hotel is it doesn't have an eleveator. I was able to switch to the first floor, but my room was very far from the lobby. All-in-all though happy with the win.
  3. Turns out this property is great. Two room suite, living room and separate bedroom, with a full kitchen. Only stayed one night but enjoyed it!
  4. I'm happy with this win. Probably could have done better, it was my first bid, but it was last minute.
  5. I was looking for a room for 3
  6. Any idea what hotel (on Lido Key) this could be? Amenities listed are: near beach airport shuttle pool(s) accessible for the blind accessible for the deaf restaurant(s) fitness center laundry facilities (self service) accessible path of travel
  7. Bid up from $45 accepted at $53. Not a great hotel, could have been cleaner.
  8. I bid from $45. Accepted at $110. Very nice Hotel. Very close to the Glass museum.
  9. I always try to get a hotel in Hillsville VA. I never have any luck with that. I have to stop bidding as I am getting so high there is no savings! I have found that this area (Jonesville NC) will accept bids and it's not too far away. Began bidding at $45 accepted at $58.
  10. Happy for the win. I like this Hotel, very good location for me. I bid up from $45, won at $60 This is the highest I have had to bid in the area, not as much savings but still good.
  11. You're right of course this is a 2.5*. That was just a typo.
  12. Bid won on 4/31/12. Taxes $7.95, fees $8.18, total of $69.13. Some savings, but not that much. Bid up from $45 by one dollar increments.
  13. I won this bid on 4/19/12. Taxes and fees were $11.41, for a total of 62.41. I start bidding lower than I think they will accept and bid by one dollar increments. If I am made an offer I will ignore it and maybe then increase my offer by a few dollars until accepted. This hotel is difficult to find even with a GPS. My advice is to look for the sign (you won't be able to see the hotel) once you see the sign look for a 2nd sign (to the right) and follow to the hotel. It is behind another hotel. It is a nice 2.5 star hotel. We had dinner at the Double T Diner, which I recommend, it was very good.
  14. I won this bid on 4/22/12. Taxes $8.55, fees $8.77 total of $81.32. I start bidding lower than I think they will accept ( maybe $45) and bid up by one dollar increments. If I am made an offer I will ignore it and maybe then increase my offer by a few dollars until accepted.
  15. I won this bid on 4/13/12. Taxes and fees on this was $14.36, for a total of $64.36. I start bidding lower than I think they will accept and bid by one dollar increments. If I am made an offer I will ignore it and maybe then increase my offer by a few dollars until accepted. The hotel was OK, could have used some updating.
  16. I bid up from $40.00 and got this win at $45.00. I'm happy with this hotel and price.
  17. I just got this bid on the Ethan Allen Hotel. An older but fairly nice hotel in an excellent location for me. But I need a hotel in this area for 5 more nights. I have done this before, splitting my bid when it is for 9 nights, and have gotten this same hotel. I will try to extend my stay, but the last time I did this I was refused. They have a New Years Eve party and rooms are booked. So I will try to extend and if I can't, will resume bidding.
  18. I had bid for a while to find a hotel in this area, and in W. Virginia. Not sure why I had to go this high. Maybe there aren't so many 2.5* hotels?
  19. Bid up from $35.00. This is a go to area for me I know this hotel takes low bids. It has some deferred maintenance, but a good deal for the price.
  20. Made this bid at the last minute. Probably could have got it for less but couldn't risk being turned down.
  21. Happy with this hotel and the price. I have stayed at this hotel before. Started bidding at 35.00 and got it for 43.00.
