  3. I think that the Hotel 1000 is the only 4.5 star in this zone. Still glad to get it at this price!
  4. I was just coming here to post my recent Hotwire hotel choice. For the night of March 2, I got a four star in Pike Place which was the Renaissance Hotel for $103/night, same amenities. So it seems kind of similar to what you're seeing for February 28-March 1.
  5. I started out bidding for 4* hotels in SF, using the PRICELINE link on this page. $119 for USE (trying for the St Francis) and then added SOMA (trying for the InterContinental). No luck. Added USW (trying for the Park 55) without luck. Gave up--I don't want to pay more than that, plus parking in SF, so I went to the East Bay. Tried a 4* in Berkeley for $120 (trying for the Claremont), failed, added, Emeryville 3 and 3 1/2 star hotels and brought my bid down to $70. Got the Hilton first try. Haven't ever stayed there, but it's in a great location, close to the Bay Bridge, etc, and we plan to spend more of our time in both SF and Oakland than in our hotel room, so it's equidistance from both.
