  1. Bid 1: MTE, 4*, $85. Bid 2: MTE, UES (free bid, as there are no 4* in UES) 4*, $90. Bid 3: MTE, UES, ESB, dropped rating to 3.5*, $95. Bid 4: MTE, UES, ESB, Chelsea, 3.5*, $100 and the Roosevelt accepted the bid. I used this board to see the recent wins, hoping for the W at under $100, but I think that window closed already. We have stayed in the Roosevelt numerous times: old school hotel, nice coffee bar in the morning, and one block to Grand Central. As we have business on the east side we are very happy with this location. Thanks to everyone who posts here.
  2. I concur with Roboron. I stayed there once after their renovation as well. It was a great deal I found on Quikbook. Listing themselves as a 2*?! Do they not want to be on Priceline? I will never bid on a 2* hotel. I learned that the hard way.
  3. I have not used Priceline in years and would like to thank everyone who participates in betterbidding.com. Searching for a hotel on Manhattan's east side for one night, Friday, 9/10/10. Bid 1: MTE, 3.5*, $150 rejected, PL asked me to up bid to $185. I declined. Bid 2: ESB + MTE, 3.5*, $160 rejected. Bid 3: CPS + MTE + ESB, $170 accepted. Grand Hyatt New York. Fairly well reviewed (at tripadvisor.com) brand name. And for those unfamiliar, right next to Grand Central and the subway line we will use. Adding UES (3* max.) would have been next, adding all 3* in all four areas, (correct?) and I would have raised bid to no more than $175. I am pleased considering these were other options I considered: Hotel Chandler, $211, Quikbook Secret Sales, $189 & $190.
