I checked out combinations of different dates that I wanted on HOTWIRE and found the best hotwire rates for a 4* MTE to be $189 on 11/24 and $209 per for 11/25 till 11/29. When I selected 11/24 to 11/29, the rates were $219 which didn't make sense.

Thanks. I've been doing research on these particular dates and thanks to Hotwire for tipping me on the lower rates prior to Thanksgiving. I also had a fallback plan just in case I couldn't get that one day (a night at a 3.5* hotel). Also based on the history of bids posted here on BetterBidding, I was able to pretty much guess the hotel and the rate. :)

Success in getting booking for 11/24 - same hotel, Intercontinental The Barclay at a lower price of $165. Bid started at $155, rejected Added rebid zone and bid at $158, rejected Added rebid zone and bid at $159, rejected Added rebid zone and bid at $160, rejected Added rebid zone and bid at $165, accepted Now onto my San Francisco hotel booking... :)

Started bid at $160 Added free rebid zones at $5 increments till the bid got accepted at $185. Actually needed 11/24 as well but my previous bids up to $200 all got rejected so I shorten it by a day. Bid of $130 accepted for 1 night in Renaissance Washington on 11/29/2010. Think I paid higher than if I've gone with HOTWIRE.. oh well. Wanted to stay as close as possible to Union Station hence why I stuck with PRICELINE - the zones are smaller
