  1. 3* MTC Dates:Sunday 4/2 - Wed 4/5 Price: $149 Amenities: Business Center No trip advisor info or reviews. Looking for a last minute room for a friend and came across this. Any ideas? Thanks! Sarah
  2. Another food suggestion (yes, we love food here)- Penelope at 30th and Lex. It's a short walk from the Grand Hyatt or you can take the 6 from Grand Central to 33rd Street and head south. GREAT brunch on Sunday mornings with free coffee if you have to wait in line and mimosas incl with most entrees. Also, really nice for an affordable and healthy dinner or lunch after you eat too much NY pizza. I promise that I don't work there, it's just my favorite neighborhood spot! Feel free to PM me if you have questions about the area, getting around, etc. And congrats on the rate. In my opinion, the Grand Hyatt is one has one of the best hotel locations in the city for convenience. sarah
  3. Yes, I started with the South Beach strategy and never bid Miami Beach. I'm glad that I did! I'll keep up updated as I challenge these resort fees with Priceline. Since everyone at the property is charged the fee, it is definitely a PL issue.
  4. Thanks for the help! After seeing the great potential prices, I actually added a night onto my stay! I got the ROYAL PALM 4* for $65 per night. Check-In Date: Fri, Aug 5, 2005 Check-In Time: After 04:00 PM Check-Out Date: Mon, Aug 8, 2005 Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM Your Offer Price: $65.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $195.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $35.61 Total Charges: $230.61 This is a really great price. Thanks for all of the help. I understand that I will probably end up paying more for parking and resort fees per day than my room rate, but that's ok. Has anyone had any success challenging the resort fees with priceline or the property itself since the hotel is not in the resort category? Is this worth investigating?
  5. Hi, I am looking for bidding assistance for a stay in Miami. I need to stay for two nights- August 5 and 6, checking out August 7. I do not want to split my bid or take the chance that I would have to stay in two different hotels. I want to stay in a 4* or resort in either Miami Beach or South Beach. I am a bit flexible with price, but do not want to spend more than $140 per night. Thanks for your help!
  6. I wanted to respond back and let you know that I ended up changing the dates of travel to just 4/17/05-4/18/05 and booked the Westin Embassy Row through Hotwire. 4/17-4/18/05 Westin Embassy Row 4* Restaurant Fitness Tennis Nearby Price: $139 This is a great price for this night since Westin's site lists the hotel as $279 for that night... and there are very few available rooms in town due to a large convention. I also tried your suggestion and attempted to book the Marriott Wardman Park through EasyClickTravel, but they were not able to fill the request after one week. Thanks again for all of your help! PS- A wild guess on that ID of the hotel in my original query is the Phoenix Park... but it's simply a guess.
  7. I agree that Crystal City is a good place with children, with Pentagon City mall (Fashion Centre) and easy access to metro. Another thought would be to stay close to the White House/Cap Hill since the museums and monuments are literally at your door step and there are bars in the area, but most are busy during happy hour only as Hill staffers and govt workers prepare to head home. As a Washingtonian, I can tell you that there really isn't any "crazy nightlife" with the possible exception of Adams Morgan... and there aren't really any hotels in the that immediate area. Even areas with a plethora of bars/nightlife like Clarendon/Ballston or Georgetown are not "rowdy" on the streets after hours. Please feel free to ask any other specific questions... I am happy to help! PS- Travel Guy... I don't agree that Pentagon City is the best mall in the area!! Tysons and the Mazza Gallerie are the better spots, in my opinion!
  8. I need help identifying a 3* boutique hotel that came up in the White House/Cap Hill zone. I checked the forums and did not see this listed anywhere, so thanks in advance for your help! Dates of stay are 4/16-4/18, 1 room, 2 adults. Hotel comes up as a 3* boutique with restaurant, business center and fitness center for $127 per night. I know how risky a 3* can be, so I am trying to determine the hotel before booking. All of the prices for these two days (Sat and Sun night) are sky high. I live in DC and am booking for my mother, so I want to get this right! Thanks for your help!
