We were looking for a hotel in the Fort Lauderdale area for our pre-cruise. I started bidding on Fort Lauderdale Beach area, and was rejected. Since we have a rental car, I added Hollywood, FL and was accepted on first bid. Had a hard time getting a bid accepted for Oct 10th, 2010 in Portland, ME. I tried Scarborough area first, and bid was rejected. Added Portland West, was rejected. Bid now for three days, with not much luck. I usually get something on the first or second try. My first bid was $54, then $58, then $60, and then $62.00 Finally accepted at $62.00 - 3* Portland (Portland-West) Clarion Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $62.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $62.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $12.60 (USD) Total Room Cost: $74.60 (USD) I am still trying to bid on Oct 1, 2010 as we need a hotel before our flight to Fort Lauderdale as well, but same story having no luck, and still have not received an "accepted" hotel yet ... will keep trying.

Just bid on a hotel for Syracuse, NY this morning. Was trying to get something in the airport area, but bid was rejected. Added the University area and Parkview Hotel was accepted for $61.00 on second bid. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night):$61.00 (USD) Number of Rooms:1 Number of Nights:1 Room Subtotal:$61.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees:$16.99 (USD) Total Room Cost:$77.99 (USD) Checked their website and rooms for Sept 3 with check out Sept 4 was $139-$169 so feel we did pretty good, with getting room for $61.
