I wanted a 4 star in the Disneyland - Anaheim Convention Center - Garden Grove area. Since Orange County had a ton of free re-bid zones (I think I counted 13 for a 4*!), I decided to start super low and work my way up. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it for much lower than the priceline express deal, which had it at $98 a night, but still worth the trouble as I saved $29 by bidding on it. The last bid rejected had been at $87 before they accepted the $90. I used the PRICELINE link provided on top of the BetterBidding board. Hi all, I just recently posted regarding searching for hotels in Puerto Morelos for September 22-28th, 2013. Of course, I use the HOTWIRE link to start all my searches. After planning and booking my Cancun trip, my younger sister now also wants to go. I'm trying to get her the cheapest price for Hotel Marina El Cid, since that is where we are staying. Obviously I understand that by using Hotwire there is no guarantee in regards to the hotel, I'm just trying to save my college student sister some money. I found a description of a 4* on Hotwire that sounds a lot like Hotel Marina El Cid, and was hoping to get some insight. It is listed at $127/night, all inclusive, 75% recommended. Just wanted to close out the post- After doing more research on the area and hotels, I decided to just do a package deal on Expedia. It was going to cost about the same (a little cheaper actually when figuring in airfare) than bidding on the hotel and having to get airfare separately. We booked airfare and the Hotel Marina El Cid in Puerto Morelos for around $812 a person. I just wanted to say thanks for your insight. It was helpful learning what I could get through HOTWIRE before booking our trip. I will definitely be using betterbidding in the future for all my trips!

Hi all, I've used Betterbidding in the past- I was able to get a steal on our honeymoon trip to Oahu! Now, I want to book a trip to Cancun for our 3 year anniversary. Two quick questions- is there anyway to use Priceline and bid for a Cancun area hotel (or rather Riviera Maya area hotel) and get only an all inclusive resort? Also, since we are looking at going during hurricane season, does anyone know if there would be a refund policy on either Priceline or Hotwire if there was in fact a hurricane that prevented us from going? I called for an upgrade to the Bella suite (the next one up from the standard King room). It includes two queens and a pull out sofa. The upgrade charge was $30 per night plus tax. I booked it because I didn't want to take chances with it getting full. Veronica

I used the PRICELINE link and got a great deal on this fab hotel for my bachelorette party! I started bidding at $100, then did a free rebid zone for $110, then $115, then $120, then $125, and finally at $130. I knew I would get it cheaper than the hotwire price of $155 when I could do another rebid at $115 immediately without changing zones for $140 (I think I read somewhere that typically whatever they want you to bid, you can get the room for less than that.) I also wanted to put down the fact that there are 11 free re-bid zones for 5*. It took me awhile on the posts to find that so thought it would be useful advice in a more recent post. Essentially, every zone is free with the exception of Strip South, and Strip Vicinity North. I was a little scared to keep trying other zones (thinking maybe there is a 5* in a remote part that I'm not aware of), but fear not!!! :) This board rocks! Veronica

I just booked this today and had posted previously for help booking my honeymoon. I thought posting this separate with the title and price would help out others who are doing quick searches of names and prices like I was. Just an FYI for folks- I tried the first day and had bid all the way up to $120 without success. I waited a day and tried my strategic bidding again (using up all the free zones- Diamondhead, Airport, Executive, etc.) and finally my bid of $110 got accepted. (I first bid $100, then $105, then $108, and it finally got accepted at $110.) Happy bidding everyone! Veronica

Hi all, I'm new to the board and need some help. I've gone through tons of posts and learned all about the re-bidding strategy in terms of adding zones and bidding increments! Thanks so much. However, I wasn't successful in my bidding. I'm trying to book Sept. 29-Oct. 5th for my honeymoon in Waikiki. I started off with $100, ended up at $120 (at the end of adding all the dollar increments and using up all the zones) and still no winning bid. Does anyone know if the time period I selected is just a bad period or does anyone think if I wait a few days I might be able to get the price I want? Ideally, my goal is to keep it between $100-$120. Thanks! Veronica
