A property with the same specs is coming up for 10/22-10/24 as well for $164. I'm assuming it's the same. FYI.

I recently found that rate on HOTWIRE for my trip in October and it was the Embassy Suites. (I just posted it in this separate hotwire hotel thread). I tried PRICELINE before purchasing through HOTWIRE and was unsuccessful for both 4* and 3.5* bids in all Manhattan zones, but you have a different set of dates so it's possible you might have more luck than I did. If you are unable to get a bid accepted on PRICELINE I would advise not to wait too long on that HOTWIRE price if it's still available, at least for my October dates it's already returned to $224/night. I've been checking HOTWIRE & bidding on PRICELINE for this trip for a few weeks now. Previously I didn't see anything less that $229 or so on Hotwire and was unsuccessful bidding all 4* & 3.5* PRICELINE zones on Manhattan Island along with free rebids. I signed in on Tuesday and found this $188 rate, which I correctly determined to be the Embassy Suites. Tried rebidding on PRICELINE up to $185 for both 4* and 3.5* with no luck so I jumped on this. Given the recent high prices for the fall I'm fairly pleased. With tax & fees this 2 night stay comes to $459.78 Amenities listed were: Suite, Complimentary breakfast, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Buisinass Center, Laundry Facilities, High-Speed Internet Access The current Hotwire price is $224. Expedia is $289, Travelocity $279, Hotels.com $289

Oof - Thanks for the heads up on the Regatta - that would explain why I'm having a hard time getting decent prices for that weekend!
