  1. Amenities listed: Free parking, Free Internet, Resort, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry Doesn't match what is listed on the boards, but thats fine. When i clicked on it, the magical blue banner popped up and hinted I'd like get the Orange Tree. I have stayed at a lot of resorts in Scottsdale/North Phoenix (with the Omni Montelucia being my absolute fave, firesky being only ok (pretty resort, but rooms and hallways in particular need upgrading), and indigo being nice but not quite nice enough. Interested in seeing how the Orange Tree works out for me :)
  2. Amenities listed are Restaurant Fitness Center Free Internet Business Center with a 8.0 out of 10 guest rating.
  3. I assumed this win would actually be a HomeWood Suites or something, bc The Embassy Row Hotel is listed as a 3.5 in Dupont Circle and I was only looking at the 3 stars. Anyway -- here is the full amenity list: Hotel Amenities Free breakfast Pet friendly Boutique hotel Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Tennis nearby Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower I am a little nervous bc this hotel appears to be under renovation until "March 2015" so I am hoping they'll be nearly done by the 8th of March.. Yelp reviews are really bad too -- 2.5 out of 5 stars on Yelp. Yelp reviewers also state there is a $9.95 mandatory resort fee for the rooftop pool (closed til June 2015) and the WiFi. The pictures on their website look nice, but who knows how great our stay will be. Location looks good though. I will report back in a month or so!
  4. Just a follow up to my won-post, we LOVED this resort. The food was good (although the descriptions of dishes at the sit-down restaurants were flowery and sometimes underdelivered, overall it was GOOD). the beach and pool are were fantastic, we are dying to go back. There are 5 pyramids, with 1 being the furthest south, 3 in dead center, and 5 the furthest north. We asked to be in 3 because it was close to the restaurants and bars, but it can be pretty noisy because of the nightly shows and music from the nightclub. We're a young couple and didnt feel compelled to change rooms, but others might. Room service was the most prompt I've ever had at ANY hotel, hot breakfast delivered in 25 minutes with a full caraffe of nice, rich coffee. One last note- the hotel insists you make reservations for all the sit-down restaurants (just about everything but the buffet). We didnt bother, they always were able to seat us immediately. We were there during a huge Bayer Pharmaseuticals convention and still never had an issue. Happy bidding!
  5. I could tell that this hotel was on the express deals for $54, but I am a cheapskate so I wanted to try naming my own price. I bid $44 and was turned down, so I bid $49 and got the deal. 3* Portland Airport PDX. Amenities: Free Internet in room Outdoor Swimming Pool Free Parking Pets Allowed Restaurant Airport Shuttle Business Center Fitness Center
  6. Amenities: Free Parking Free Breakfast Resort Beachfront hotel Free food and drinks A la carte dining Free water activities Free entertainment Free activities When I selected this 4* in the South Hotel Zone, there was a blurb highlighted in blue saying, "Book soon! The last person got the Paradisus Cancun Resort - All Inclusive." so I felt pretty comfortable making this purchase. It's currently $178 for the same dates! (I booked on Wednesday night (12/18/13). Free WiFi too :)
  7. I first bid $59/night bc it looks like others have won at that rate, but since its for Labor Day weekend, it didnt go thru. Bid $65 and got it :) I have stayed at this hotel before, its comfortable and our room (at the end of one of the blocks of rooms) was comfortable and very very spacious. Pet fee is $50 (!!!)
  8. I found a 4* in Monterey on Hotwire for $104 and assumed it would be the Hyatt. I have stayed at the Hyatt before and didn't love it, so I instead bid 3.5* on Priceline for $89 and won.. you guessed it... the Hyatt. BetterBidding's hotel list for Priceline in California had the Hyatt as a 4*, so I guess they've downgraded it to a 3.5* now. The list should be updated, or at least updated to show that the Hyatt can be awarded for either a 3.5* or a 4*. Anyway $89 isnt bad, and although I know I will have to pay a $22 resort fee per room upon check-in, its still not a terrible deal, even if the hotel isnt stellar. Happy bidding!
  9. Super last minute trip this wknd to Lake Tahoe, thought we were bidding on Hyatt resort, ended up with Squaw Creek Resort for $120++/nite. $16/nite resort fee is extra. Looks good, best avail. rate on their website is $279/nite, good deal!
