Got Hilton Americas downtown for $75/night + tax. Not bad! Thank for the help! Also this was a Priceline Name Your Own Price win.

Intention wasn't to waste your time, I appreciate the admins taking time to research and reply on this forum. I was looking at all the possible options out there. I will be careful with my request next time. Thanks for the heads up. Wrt to your question for Price.line bidding my main goals are: to be in core downtown (for public transportation), the hotel to have free internet, a nice 3 star or above with a good rating or as you mention the goal is least expensive 3* or better for this stay. So if I can get a 3* or above in downtown under/around USD 100 that could be great. USD 150 was my max. budget for any * rating. Thanks again for your help!

One more thing regarding Sandman on Hotwire secret rate hotels, its shows 65% approved with 92 reviews but if I see the hotel on Hotwire (regular/standard) the rating is 87% of guests recommend with 1000+ reviews which is quite good actually. Would they purposely show lower customer ratings on a secret hotel? Also, based on what I see on Hotwire Regular I like all the hotels they have in the downtown area. Based on that I wouldn't be too concerned on which one I get. Is it possible the Hotwire can have a completely different inventory on their secret hotels vs. regular hotels? Thanks!

Hi, I am looking for hotels in San Francisco between 7/25-7/28 for 4 people. Budget is < $200/night. Areas: Union Square/Nob Hill/Russian Hill. Since we are 4 people, does it make sense to try to use Priceline bidding/hotwire or should I go the traditional route instead of bidding/express deals? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your help. The price had increased to $139/night today but with the 10% sale I got the 'Milenorth, A Chicago Hotel' for around $125/night using PRICELINE EXPRESS. Regarding taxes, I noticed that PRICELINE EXPRESS charged me around 20% in tax, where as booking directly the taxes were around 15%. Any idea why that might be the case?
