Goal was to get the Gaylord Opryland Resort. Started bid at $50. Rejected. Kept adding $3-$5 to my bid while adding new zones that didn't have 3.5 star hotels available. $70 bid accepted +$18.60 taxes + $20 hotel fee to be charged at time of check in. Would have loved to get it all for under $100 but excited to successfully get this hotel for 70% off the list price!

First bid $50 for 3* REJECTED 2 days later, put in my second bid $50 and lowered to 2.5* REJECTED 2 days later, put in my third bid $57 at 2.5* ACCEPTED and upgraded to a 3* Now I just hope the weather is warm enough to go swimming in Lake Michigan!

At first I had many failed bids for Monday Sept 12- Sept 13 in the zone of NMA-River North and The Loop, bidding up to $83 for a 2* and up. Then decided to change our travel date to Sunday Sept 11 - Sept 12 and won on the first try, getting upgraded from a 3* to a 4*. First Bid: 3* Sept 11-12 (NMA - River North)...$75 Accepted and upgraded to 4* Marriott Mag Mile. Room Subtotal: $75.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $19.06 (USD) Total Room Cost: $94.06 (USD) (booked on Friday, August 26, 2011) We are very happy about the location of this property and hope it's as nice as it looks! I couldn't find any reviews on this hotel, however. We aren't too picky so I'm sure we'll be pleased :) Now I'm curious how much cheaper I could have gone if I had started the bid lower?!

You know, I totally agree with you in regards to the Pier. We have been to Chicago many times BUT this is the first time we are bringing our daughter with us and the Chicago Children's Museum is high on her list! So, off to the pier we go :) Thanks again for the help with the location.
