I'm not sure that Peppermill has Shuttle in the Hotel amenities as seen in the post above. I just checked again on hotwire and Peppermill comes up as without Shuttle. That was one way of diffrentiation Peppermill from Atlantis. Looks like that there is no way to do that now.

Just an update on the rates on venetian.com (exactly 7 days left for my travel dates) July 22 - $259 July 23 - $699 :) I dont think the July 23 rate would fall to the $120 - $200 range as seen before to get a reasonable deal on priceline. have no idea as to why July 23(Wed) is that expensive . I also checked for the conventions and I couldnt find anything that could force the rates that high. Has anyone seen the rates fall so much before?

I guess I chickened out. The risk was too much for little reward. Others might disagree, but thats just me.I'm still waiting for the venetian prices to fall down, they are still very high $249/night for my days (now less than 8 days left). Will update the board once I book the rooms either through priceline or hotwire. As of now i still have my backups at Luxor and Paris (Need to cancel them in 4 more days)

I just thought of something that I would like to share with you and get your advice. I have pasted the rates for venetian from hotwire as well as from aanhotels.com. Hotwire has the rooms for $272/night (Total including tax + fees = $596.95) AAnhotels.com has the same for $169/night (Total including tax = $368.42) I was thinking of buying the room from hotwire and then claiming double the difference. I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do ? I mean is there a risk involved? What if i dont get my money back? Also is the Double the difference apply to the total cost including taxes and fees or just the room cost. In other words in my case will I be eligible for 2x($596.95 - $368.42) = $457.06 ( this way my effective cost for venetian would be $139.89 (all inclusive) OR 2x($272 - $169) x2 (days) = $412 ( this way my effective cost for venetian would be $184.95 (all inclusive) Please advice if this is the right thing to do and what amount of refund would i be eligible for? When you say willingness to tip Do you mean tip the front desk person? I didnt know you could tip them? Do you think they could get offended?

Thanks for such an informative response. I guess i'll wait till next week before i place my bids. About Luxor, i was having the same concerns. That is why I also have a backup reservation with Paris for $79/night. After reading your response I think I will opt for the Paris if I'm not able to get the Venetian at my target price. Also i woud really appreciate if you could share some more info about some low rates I can expect to find or is $79 at Paris and $59 at Luxor already the best I can do for those nights. Thanks again

Hi, I am hoping to stay at the venetian for 2 nights (midweek) July 22 - July 24. I have seen many people get the venetian for $79 (midweek) Do you think it will be possible for me to get the same rate for my dates? The 5* on hotwire is showing $249/night for my dates. So is the venetain website. I wonder why these midweek rates are so high? BTW, I have a backup reservation at the Luxor for $59/ngt. I was really hoping to get the venetian at $79/ngt like so many others? Do you think it is possible if I wait until next week? THx
